I keep voting on images and after rating them my gallery votes is still stuck on 2. Does anyone else have this problem?

It is part of the site's recent optimisation. Now it will only update when you logout and login again (including auto login). It was hurting the database too much to continually update that in real time as it is run on a different system to the forum so needed a database hit every time to be accurate.

Voting requirements have been raised to 5 per image to remove issues of bad/aggressive voting making users unhappy. If you want your images rated sooner, either wait a while or pimp them in our forums and on other sites. There is a 'vote for this' sticky in the P&M forum where you can get some extra votes and input. The gallery system is being tweaked a lot at the moment, hence the strange changes.

Silly question sorry;

Is it based on the votes you cast; or votes cast on your stuff (this makes more sense to me).

Wait 5 votes per image, or your image needs to have a score greater than 5?

Seems like at least 5 votes, for me (as in from 5 different users)

Any chance you could make it so images with less than those five votes don't count for the various best image rankings?

No, otherwise good new images would only get pushed to the top very very slowly. As it is, images with false high ratings and few votes get pushed down very quickly which is preferable.

That was fun. It's quite hard to stop once you start.

Seriously, some of work there is absolutely incredible.. I found it quite useful for conversion ideas.

It really does emphasise how important lighting is for the photography, a poorly lit photo auto loses 2-3 points in painting for me.
