Anyone out there have any experience with army painter's pure red spray primer or their newly released dragon red primer color? I'm not sure which will be better for a blood angels base. Thanks in advance!

It's not bad. It was too bright for my dad's Red Corsairs, so I think it'd be just right for Blood Angels.

The "Pure Red". This was months ago, so Dragon Red wasn't out yet.

I used their original red primer for my skinks, it worked really great. Saved me lots of time there's pics of em in the link in my sig if you wanna see. Their colored primers are really great, highly recommended

I used two cans of the stuff on my Red Templars army. It worked brilliantly and was an almost exact match to GW's Blood Red. It also has a very nice finis to it if you spray it on in several thin coats. Be warned... it'll take MANY coats if you start with a model that was primed black.

No experience wit the dragon red though....

The Army Painter website has a Blood Angels mini-tutorial here.
It uses the Dragon Red spray.
