As you said, as a Gargantuan creature, we can choose to make a special attack during the assault phase.
Instead of concentrating the attacks of the profile on one target we can choose to take 1 attack for each enemy in base-contact (Stomp special Attack).

So here the problem.

The Forgeworld model isn't send w/ a base and I see many scratch-built models with simple little bases (around 3" of diameter) for each legs.

Because I'm trying to realize a scrath-built Hyerophant on my own I'm baffled about the base size to realize.
With a little proportion I calculated a diameter of about 12".

It will be legal?

You dont need to put a base on it - if you read the rules for the hierophant it tells you to "imagine" the base.

Well, isn't it too much aleatory?
Above all in case of a rule like this one?

As was stated - if you want a RAW answer then you are only given permission to put a model on the base it is supplied with, ergo if you dont get supplied with a base, then you may not create your own.

They then state a base isnt needed, as it tells you a method to determine who is in base to base.

Well, all at my advantage in this case.
