Besides the Defiler, Blood Scorpion and Plague Hulk, what else is there for Chaos Marines and their fancy metal daemons of doom?

Just build them! I'm making a 'counts as soulgrinder' thing right now... but the scope for daemon engines in the fluff is quite vast. Daemons codex says that the Soul Forge crew fuse daemons with chunks of war-machines from the materium which have 'felt the touch of chaos'... so it's free reign to get lootin' (as the greenskins would have it). If I was gonna write my own rules for the 'Excoriator', it'd have to have twin heavy flamers (the arms), and a bunch of other guns as well as a meaty close combat attack for just plain stepping on people. In the pic it's about 1/4 painted, with a bloodletter for scale ref. I'd love to field an army from the Soul Forge at some point - no daemons of any great power, just troop-sized 'engines' about necron-sized, backed up by a whole mess of strange fast attack and heavy support vehicles.

Whoever appeals to the law against his fellow man is either a fool or a coward. Whoever cannot take care of himself without that law is both. For a wounded man shall say to his assailant, "If I Die, You are forgiven. If I Live, I will kill you." Such is the Rule of Honor.

Way back there were Chaos Androids, who were basically Chaos Necrons controlled by daemons. Before you jump out with 'Necrons can't be possessed!', this was before Necrons existed, and as far as I'm aware Chaos Androids are no longer canon.

People are like dice, a certain Frenchman said that. You throw yourself in the direction of your own choosing. People are free because they can do that. Everyone's circumstances are different, but no matter how small the choice, at the very least, you can throw yourself. It's not chance or fate. It's the choice you made. |

I think GW is rather lacking in the chaos department lately .I know you can get forge world stuff, but theres all these evil engines spewed forth from the wrap. Me thinks some conversions are in order

A lot of the Daemon Engines were in Epic. There's the Cannon of Khorne, and the Lord of Battles for Khorne. That's all I really know, hehe. @ Cheese: Just because they haven't been mentioned in a while doesn't mean they're not canon. They're essentially the same principle as a defiler: A machine with a daemon inhabiting it. The real problem I would imagine is that they were created by Chaos Squats.

Basically there is an infinate amount of daemon engines that all look different. Each one is just a daemon that has inhabited a machine instead of a flesh body and as such has warped it to it's whims.
So, defilers and scorpions and slaughters may look similar as models but that's more representative, because all the daemons would mould their metal shell to create something different and terrifying in a whole new way!

Hmm never heard of them, but then again my experience has always been with Necrons existing.
I just feel like its untapped resource and you could get really creative with it.
