So I was playing one of my favorite battlefield games the other day when I thought to myself why not make an EU themed IG army? I already have a fairly winter camo'd army so why no go the extra step and give them all orange shoulder pads and such.
This is the idea behind it:

Awesome idea!

Do you play 30k? It'd be a lot cooler if you did.

oh the uselessness. I think the original EU sniper would look way better in 40k.(If you were going to model things up that is.)

About the paintjob itself, it's good. Really gets the image across, and the colors match up.

Not going for an entire army, but I'll defenatly model up one of those visor helmets scouts have for my traitors.

The problem I find with doing this sort of camo on a GW model is that there is too many folds & creases in the cloth.
You eg pict shows this nicely - his trousers are nice & flat.
You may be able to fill in some of the GW models with green stuff or milliput.
Otherwise the camo gets lost in the shading and I'm afraid to say it ends up looking a bit of a mess.

Also I've started taking photos to use as reference for weathering which can be found here. Please send me your photos so they can be found all in one place!!

Sorry if I sound a bit harsh, the concept is cool and all, but the painting is terrible.

Painting camo isn't putting paint on your brush and splashing it on the model with a bunch of colors (this made myself laugh at the image)

Maybe brace your elbows on your painting desk.

Yeah, I still need to work on my technique. It certainly doesn't help though that I've been working with a frayed detailing brush. I still think I can get away with the idea. The only real places that need camo are the arms, legs, and head. Now I'm off to search for a how-to-camo article.

Alright so I've bought a new brush and took a bit more time on these. What do you think? Obviously they are missing the orange shoulder pads, but I just wanted to get my camo down.

I personally think the 2 on the left are the better ones. I have an old Vietnam War helmet I was working off of so that is how I'm trying to do my camo (pattern-wise at least).

Those look good. It's amazing how much a new brush can help out.

Lol, well I was actually planning on taking the tips off of the lasguns, putting Tau scopes on them, and either leaving them short like the Scar-11 or elongate them with Tau pulse rifles to make Baur-HARs.

@Iron_Chaos_Brute: Yeah, I'll definitely friend you next time I login to my account. I've been fairly addicted to L4D2 though recently so lately I've been on and off BF 2142.
