This is a different list that what I usually utilize but I think that it would work well for the upcoming 'ard boyz. What is your opinion?

I would consider using vindicators instead of preds, because that way you can have your rhinos hide behind AV13, and the vindicators will have AV14 side armor cover. I also suggest trading Cassius for a librarian with null zone.

Cassius isn't worth his points imo.


Imo, the powerfist on the scout sarge is a waste of points. Give him a power weapon if you really want, but a fist isn't worth it. Replace it by fusion bombs instead for the anti-tank.

Your tac squads all have powerfists. As for the scouts, it is rather a waste of points. Your tac sqauds will ideally stay out of combat and blow up tanks with their meltas. Loose the fists, get fusion bombs and save 20 points. With 3 tac squads, you save 60 points.

Get yourself a Librarian instead of Cassius; you'll need the Psychic Hood and Nullzone if you're intending on going to a tournament.

That's a nice mix of TH/SS and LC. Why bother with the regular Terminator squad though? You're already paying over 250 points for the Land Raider, you may as well make them Assault Terminators to take better advantage of the Assault Ramp and the Master-crafted Thunderhammers. Plus it lessens the need for Cassuis.

That's a lot of troops! You can go ahead and get rid of all the Powerfists, as you've already got 2 units of Terminators with Assault Ramps to take out the big scary stuff that only TH/SS can deal with. Your tactical squads should be staying well away from combat and providing fire support. I would also consider getting rid of the Multi-Meltas; it might sound crazy, but you should already be packing enough Multi-Meltas elsewhere that they aren't required. I would get more Plasma Cannons instead for better fire support.

I like the Predators, but I would drop the Vindicator to make room for additional MM/HF Land Speeders first.

Orks are about having too many models on the table, and wasting the other guy's time with your movement phase.

Cassius is absolutely not worth his points because:

1) He takes the slot away from your psychic hood/null zone option.

2) TH/SS terminators don't need help.

OP:

This list is all over the place, and it doesn't feel like you have a plan to support any of the pieces when they go out to do their job (such as the one assault terminator squad with nothing else that will be really leaving the back-mid table).

Q: How many of a specific demographic group are required to carry out a simple task?
A: An arbitrary number. One to carry out the task in question, and the remainder to act in a manner stereotypical of the group.

Correct. Luckily I advised him to drop the Vindicator, giving him exactly one free Heavy Support slot for the Land Raider.

Yeah...I recently played against the new 'Nids and lost a squadron of 2 MM/HF Land Speeders to a Mycetic Spore, good times.

I'd advise a taking a vanilla LR over a redeemer. The Godhammer(s) help with transports.

Your first statement is however entirely correct. He is totally worth his pts, only problem is that he takes up a FOC which could be used for a Libby with Nullzone
