Hello everyone,

I have been discussing a certain spell with a player and I was just wondering what your opinions were.

The discussion is whether you allow the look out sir to protect a unit from spells that say they effect every model in the unit, such as Flames of the Phoenix and Wall of Fire?

In the book it mentions templates weapons and war machines but the spell is not a template?

If you are allowed to use the look out sir for these effects wouldn't it negate the special rules for a number of spells and weapons such as Hochland long rifles, Rule of Burning Iron, and I am sure a few more. . .

No, as you say - LOS protects against templates, and war machines that dont use BS to hit.

It only protects against templates actually. It does not protect against an Organ gun, for instance (The generic rules for shooting does that though).

You don't get look out sir from attacks that target a specific model though.
