Theme: I am modeling this army using DKOK as WW2 Waffen-SS (not Nazis but just the German military) painting up the Valks/Vende as Messerschmitts (yellow nose and tail, iron cross) and the death strike as a V2. I got the idea for this when I was watching “Mutant Chronicles” on SyFy. It was so WW2 meets 40k.
Strategy: Ok i have played 40k for years as Deathwing, I left for about a year and have come back to the game looking for a change. I have decided to play guard. This army is going to be a competitive list and id like some feed back from people that have played guard for a while. I have tried to take units that are competitive with the exception of the death strike this is more of a fluff reason and I am not dropping it. That said everything else is open to comment/criticism. Basic plan is to blob up the 3 10 man units on my home objective keeping the CCS near by to that and the heavy weapons then just rain fire down on everything else the from range like a good guard player should! The valk is loaded up with a vet squad with assault weapons to max out shots after dropping out. The PCS has kinda became a suicide squad at this point with the flamers.
