I have been trying to upload a animated gif for my avatar but all it seems to do is show 1 frame from the actual animation, is there anyway to fix that? or actually how to do that?

If the forum has to resize your avatar at all, it won't animate. You'll need a file smaller than 120x120.

Is it a file you've downloaded from somewhere? Or is it something you've created?

As you can see, I've got some experience in this area, and may be able to help.

You could do it in Illustrator or Photoshop.
