Can he do it?

I have read the rulebook and only found a rule stating that he is allowed to fire his "Storm Bolter" in addition to his Cyclone. If i've replaced his storm bolter with a combi plasma/melta for instance does the rule allowing him to fire still cover it?

RAW seem to say no. RAI seem to say yes.

The Cyclone only specifically allows him to fire a Storm Bolter as well. Combi weapons can therefore not be fired.

I would disagree that RAI 'seems' to say anything either way. You could argue that combi-weapons aren't that different to storm bolters, and so should be allowed... or you could argue that it's a deliberate restriction for balance or fluff purposes. Claiming that either is RAI is just a guess.

No. You can fire the Storm Bolter, and nothing else. It has ALWAYS been this way.

I don't even think you could argue this as RAI.

Balance wise, firing the cyclone and a combi-melta could be way overpowered.
