Me and my buddy did a random battle mission and rolled for "Vertical Envelopment" from the tau section. Basically the special rules didn't apply to either army so it ended up being a pitched battle, kill point mission starting 9" from the center instead of 12".

I'm not good for typing the turn-by-turn from memory, but luckily i have a video batrep instead.

Hope you all enjoy!

Love the video BR dude!

Figured you would have issues with the nobs when you described the list.

Oh, i did. they chewed through every unit they hit, hard. The battle wagon served its purpose well too, though i made the mistake of putting my bird right next to it. D'oh! Poor Harpy....lol

I assume you were trying out a Harpy and the Parasite of Mortrex because even on paper they don't look all that great.

Nice succinct batrep though

No, actually I have fielded the Parasite in many games. I like the models, and they both fit well in my 'flying circus' list.

I bring Nidzilla/Monster farm lists to tournaments though.

Mortrex seems situational at best and its so cost inefficient.

Harpy...have you had luck with that so far? HVC just has never seemed effective.

Pommy with an escort has 2/3 of the time killed something in a game. He's a great light tank hunter, since he has s6 and will glance av 10 on a 4+. Paired with his mobility, and the cheap 6 point wound soakers you take with him, i think he is costed pretty well.

As far as Harpy goes, I've only fielded her twice, since i just made the model (an awesome conversion by my standards, i will probably run another). Against armies with long-range s10 weapons (i'm looking at you, tau) the harpy has to do some damage on turn 1 or be decimated. Honestly? no, it's not a strong choice. Is it fun for me? Certainly right now it is, and as i play more I might get to see uses that aren't obvious.

**edit** the harpy is the cheapest platform for a HVC in the codex, and twin-linked to boot. the maneuverability also can help, but again against tau or IG w/ autocannons and heavy bolters it's dead meat w/out a cityscape to hide and call for cover saves.

YMMV of course

Also i would like to say i've watched the batrep a couple of times and i think my list suffered from lack of synapse control. the hormagaunts could have given the nobs a run for their money had they not fallen off the board...just a thought i had.

I thought it was an ok format, certainly need more lighting throughout. It was very difficult to understand you once the music started playing and very distracting.

Thanks for posting it.

Lighting is an ever-present issue in my game-cave, I will eventually install some better drop-lighting (maybe).

The music issue was evident to me as well, In future batreps I will make sure to turn it down/off before switching on the camera for the post-turn recaps.

thanks for the C&C, and thanks for watching the video.
