Trying to figure out if my BRB is current or not.

Its an all red softcover and on the inside cover it says welcome to this, the 6th version of the warhammer rules.

I am trying to figure out online if this is the right one but running in to a brick wall. I have just come back to the game so i want to make sure i have the right book.

If it is not the correct edition, has much been changed to where I need a new book?

Warhammer is in its 7th edition, so your rulebook is one out of date!

However, there are rampant rumors that 8th edition is coming out this summer. If I were you, I'd just stop by a Games Workshop store and look through the store copy of the rulebook (they usually have one at the front of the stack of each rulebook/codex with a sticker saying "Store Copy" on it) and see what's different.

Then wait till this summer to buy the new rulebook, or your purchase will be out of date in last than half a year!

yeah i was afraid of that. Ill have to see if much has changed and if so get the new one.

I heard the rumors about 8th edition coming out soon also.... Also according to the rumor mill at the game shop there's a lot of undesirable changes in it, however lack of what exactly the changes are leads me to believe its people getting worked up over nothing.

Yes, anyone saying they know exactly what changes are coming as of now probably isn't being totally truthful... it's just rumors!

But the fact that 8th edition is coming this summer... that seems pretty certain! I'd see if you can borrow the 7th edition one, or buy the paperback version instead of the hardback:

$23 instead of $50! Of course, you'll have to pay for shipping... they actually gave me one of these smaller paperback rulebooks for free at the GW Bunker here. It's what got me into playing fantasy, and I'm still using that copy

Certain things are fine to get from the War Store. Other things... well, I picked up my used SKull Pass rulebook from the Swap Shop here on Dakka for about $8 shipped. I'm sure even a more seller-friendly price of $15-20 would not be terribly hard to come by.

Yes... mine was free, Kirbinator's was $8 WITH shipping... you can probably do better than the war store . But even there is better than the hardcover for half a benjamin!

Yeah, I suggest to use Ebay to get a Battle for Skull Pass rulebook for around 10-20 dollars.

When did the 7th Ed come out?
Thought it was only a couple of years old or so.
