Surround my units with the conscripts and make a meat shield and then shoot from behind them till everything that resembles an ork is dead. Work, not work? 500 point list remember.

Drop the conscripts and get another guardsmen squad or some grenade launchers. IMO are ACs better then HBs, they can also deal with transports.

Drop the conscript squads, put flamers in the command squads. Hide the command squads behind lines of infantry. When the orks charge and break your infantry, the command squads are in position to move and flame a lot of them.
