I'm sure this question has been answered but any search terms I can think of using are too generic to find something on it. The rules state that during the movement phase you can't move within 1" of enemy models, does this mean you can't END the turn within 1", or you can't at any point in time move within 1", such that moving "around" an enemy unit or tank would take a significantly longer distance.

With the amount of terrain my local group usually plays with it seems like this gives drop pods and such a massive ability to completely block paths for troops and vehicles as only a penatrating role with a 6 will allow anything to move through. True?

Thanks for bearing with me on this one.

It means you cannot at any point during the models move be within 1" of an enemy model.

I suggest you lower the ammount of terrain you use or change most of it from impassible to Difficult.

At no point may you be within 1 inch of an opponents model unless you are assaulting. So you must keep a 1 inch gap even when moving around enemies. This is good to know when trying to block movement lanes.

Are you playing the open doors as blocking movement?

Yeah, the doors on the Drop pod should not affect movement. Additionally, if you wreck a vehicle with a 5 on the vehicle damage chart, you can move through it. It just counts as difficult and dangerous terrain.

Playing Space Marine demo while GF was scrapbooking:
Me: I can turn it down, if the screams of dying orks are annoying you.
Her: That's ok, I love hearing the screams of dying orks.

My armies (W-D-L):
2,000 (about 1,200 painted and now I'm feeling the call of Russ) 3-4-3
2,000 (about 1,000 painted, WiP) 0-1

My local group uses alot of the city of death terrain or what not with all the burned out buildings, and it is difficult but the walls are impassible for vehicles aren't they? Although per some rules I read and the way we play the troops can move straight through the walls (fluff of kicking down doors, using demo charges etc)

It depends entirely on how the players decide the terrain will work pre-game. If it's merely difficult then vehicles can run right through it.

The rulebook defaults to allowing people to walk through walls of ruins. It's really more of if you decide that you can't.
