...urrrr... I dunno

Seeing as I recently discovered an unused Rhino kit lying around, I thought I'd put it to good use and upgun it a bit.
The result? A brand new Looted Wagon. I cannot claim credit for the design, as I got the idea from our local GW staff member, who made the first ones. I decided to mount the gun further back than he did, however.

Here it is, in all of it's (dilapidated and rather questionable) glory:

Now dats a looted wagon.

I like it, its a lot better than other looted wagons I have seen. If your looking for any ideas to improve it I would suggest replace the right-hand door with a grot turret.

Make sure you post pics of a painted version.

Nice wear marks on it, my only suggestion is to add more welded looking armour pieces randomly slapped on and maybe a the back engine cowl ripped open to show ork modifications.
Good job, keep posting pics!

As it happens, I do have some bitz from an Ork trukk lying about. I'll test them out, see what happens. I like the idea of Building an Orky engine on the back, too. Thanks!

Im ashamed of myself for not thinking of the idea to use the battlewagon turret for a looted wagon.

Its a great start.
Assuming you have a spare battlewagon laying around, id take a saw/clippers/knife to as much armour plating and gubbinz as you can. Cut up the cabin and hull sections to make armour plates. Take the multiple exhausts and attach them to the back and maybe put together something that resembles an engine. You could maybe even take some of the wheels and put them where the tracks are or something to that effect. Id figure the tracks would be beyond repair or "too 'umee fer da boyz".

The battle damage is good and not over done. But you want to be adding more orksy gubbinz.

It's from the Battlewagon box set, but I think they might sell individual frames somewhere.

As it happens, I have been experimanting with the leftover vehicle doodads from my various Wheelz, and I have a rough plan for how to put together an engine. It will require a new trukk box, but that won't be too much of a setback.

I'd suggest opening the side access areas and putting boyz there shooting out. Maybe a grot desperately clasping at the bottom of the access point, trying to get on like a hobo catching a freight train.

Nice job but add some type of side guns either Orks or Grots. But looks good.

Side gunz? That shouldn't be too much of a problem, I think I have some Ork Crew around here somewhere. I'll put it together soon, and see what it looks like.

I would put a lot more damage on it first, that rino was still in running condition and would not have been left. Then do some "repairs" ork style, do not forget to add some mec "improvements" armor plates etc.

Improving the engines would be an awesome way to start, make sure to gut the imperial engines.

Maybe even destroy one side of the tank and put some wheels on instead.

Right now it just looks too much like a rhino with a turret on top.

I agree, more damage and orky repairs. Put a bit of glyphs on it too. Other than that it's good!

give it some Big exhaust pipes too, and what about kitbashing a Deffkopta's front end with the Missiles and Driver and make it a side mounted Launcher.

Looks familiar! Although I took the route of leaving the turrent unglued so as to use them as rhinos in my SM army. I mean nothing says that a vehicle has to be complety trashed before the orks jump in. Maybe they got a lucky headshot on those drivers always poking their heads out.

If nothing else, I could at least armour plate up those side doors. As to the engine, I'm planning to cut out the back plate and install some... improvements.

Also, I like those Wagons, must have been where the staff member got the idea from.

Its a great start, but I'll echo the others by calling for more gubbinz. Try extending the smoke stacks to classic L-shapped ones.

I'm aware- perhaps i wasn't quite clear. Replace the tops of the side engines with an inverted L shape to give it a more 'Orky' feel.

Edit:A bendy straw with a greenstuff sleeve should do the trick!

Well, I did make some "addishunz," which involve an engine on the back of the tank (pics to come) but I think I can spare the time to see to the smoke stacks. Any hints as to how to do this?

Right, here's the improvements I made. Hope you like them.

The engine block:

the left and right sides, with additional plating:

and the front, with glyphs added to the hull of the vehicle. Two of them are next to the turret.

I hope you all like the engine, I damn near cut off my thumb putting it together. But then, that's orky carelessness for you.

ALSO: Turns out the thumb injury is only shallow, so that's ok.

Problem is, I don't want to put too many gunz on it, as I haven't paid for them in terms of points cost. In any case, I could probably find some grots to put on it, and maybe change the smoke stacks.

Looking better, still needs more orky. How about opening or just removing a hatch and having an ork popping out? Maybe a side hatch too?

A few more armor plates and maybe a big spotlight or more guns.

I like it. Looks like some Deff Skulls hot wired it from an Imperial Repair Yard and added just a few Gubbins to it, to bring it up to Proper Ork Standards.
