So, what's the scoop on multiple weapons, and how they interact?

Take SM tactical squad, for example. You basic tactical marine is equipped with a close combat weapon, a boltgun and a bolt pistol. Now, a majority of the time they'll be fire thier boltguns, but, if they're planning to assault that turn, they can fire their bolt pistols, correct? Does that then mean that they get an extra attack in close-combat by virtue of being equipped with both a CCW and a BP? What if they shot their boltguns in their own turn, and were assaulted in their foes' next turn? Would they be able to claim an extra attack for their other weapons then? What about heavy weapons? My missile launcher-toting marine moved this turn, and thus can't use his heavy weapon, but can he still chose to fire his BP, a pistol class weapon?

Tactical squad only has Boltgun and Bolt Pistol. It would take some sort of tactical genius to equip them with CCWs.

Sorry, but only Chaos Marines and Space wolves get to have CCWs in addition to bolters. Maybe BA too, but I can't remember.

As to your question, yes. They (CSM, SW, etc) may fire their BPs if they wish to assault, and get +1A for wielding two single handed close combat weapons. They may claim the extra attack if assaulted. For heavy weapons, it is codex dependent. If the heavy replaces a Bolt Pistol or CCW, and they no longer have 2 single handed CCWs, then they may not gain +1 attack, regardless of whose turn it is. If the heavy replaces the boltgun, or they otherwise still have 2 single handed CCWs, then they may gain +1 Attack.

Last question, yes, he may fire any weapon he is eligible to fire, obviously only being able to fire a single weapon (unless he's a MC).

Though I must point out, much of this (the CC bitz) DOES NOT APPLY TO TAC MARINES. They don't have a CCW.

1) Your basic tactical marine is NOT equipped with a CCW, BP and Bolter. They have a Bolt Pistol and Bolter, nothing else.

2) Yes, if you want to assault you fire the bolt pistols then charge.

3) each model can choose one weapon to fire

4) what weapon you fire has NOT effect on what you subsequently fight with.
