The Demolisher is solid, I find it useful against anything. The large blast hurts hordes, the ap2 can stomp anything from Boyz to Terminators, and you can't go wrong with Str 10 for hunting vehicles or infantry. Only downside is the range, but hey, can't have everything.
I've fallen in love with the Executioner with Plasma Cannon sponsons for higher point games. Can generate a ridiculous amount of wounds when it fires, and it makes a great fire magnet for opponents who know what it's capable of. It's even better against opponents who don't, because you can see the look on their face when this gem spits death .
My comments on the LRBT are about the same as those for the demolisher. Less strength and ap than the Demolisher, but cheaper and has a much bigger range to boot. Threat to pretty much everything but those darned 2+ savers and av14.
Can't give any other thoughts on the others as I've not had a chance to try them out.

well i usually always take my LRMBT with las and bolter sponsons for a versatile role as you said and my other two lemans are the new demolisher ones.
i didnt glue in any of the guns but blue tack em! sponsons as well lol cos i couldnt be stuffed with magnetising .
i havent had great success with the demolisher. i ususally get close, get one good hit in and then its gone. its only really usful verse my bro who fields 3 monoliths lol. cos wat else would bring them down?
executioners were okay but tended to scatter for my liking, considering the points cost.
punishers actually, the underrated tank, has probly been the best in my games but mainly with pask or in suadrons. theyve taken down wraithlords in one volly, numerous tomb spyders and bucket loads of troops and even a night bringer! one pask punisher with 3 bolters
and a normal punisher with hull bolter took him down!
though against numerous troops battle cannons better. Automatically Appended Next Post: *Executuoners scattered to much for my liking, with plasma sponsons.

I can never kill my brothers lemon russes. I have never actually beaten him in a stand up fight, because my lascannons can't penetrate his stupid tanks. Don't matter if I am on the side or not....

Leman Russ Battle Tanks and Demolishers are both great. I've fought against both of them, and they're both a pain to take out. Most other variants are just fun little diversions though. A punisher sounds like it would be a blast, but the mathhammer behind it (and it's prohibitively high points cost) keep it from being viable. That's true of most of the variants though.

I tend to stick to cheap tanks because my regular opponents get in my face and bet their face pretty quickly.
So I will usually play a naked LRBT or demolisher.
I like the LRBT w/ plasma sponsons as a versatile setup.

Unhealthy Competition With Other Legions

When playing my Armoured Company, I always, always, always bring 2 Las/ Plas Demolishers. They are the anti-everything beat-stick wonder weapon for 220 points. I try to squeese in either naked or heavy bolter/lascannon russes depending on points, these make exelent filler and solid all round tanks. Occasionally I run an executioner, because of modeling restrictions, but I find myself thinking a demolisher could have done the same or better for less points 9/10 times.
For my HQ, (If not running ArCo, I would consider these "pask considerations") I like running a tank hunter exterminator with a lascannon and occasionally hvy bolters. This is made to keep up with the demolishers and russes and provide a delisious 6" bubble of ignoring shaken and also to pop transports like there is no tommorow. With 4 BS 4 twin linked str 7(8 with tank hunters ) a str 9(10) shots on the move, and adding 6 str 5(6) while idileing, it is well suited for the task. (if using pask, you get tank hunters and you also turn this tank into the ultimate MC killer)
I also run a Jet black commissar vanqisher with centerline lascannon for my other HQ slot. Not only is the FW vanqsher turret very cool, but with tank hunters, I have a BS4 melta-lascannon and a BS4 railgun that can reach out and punch someone in the face from across the board, while on the move in the backfield.
Mmmmm.... Russes...
