I am new to LOTR strategy game, and was just wondering about collecting Easterlings, but had some questions : Are they a good army?
What units are best to start with?
Can they team with the Harad?
I would also appreciate some general support.
Thanks,
malo.

They're nice in the skirmish game I find, generally one of the cooler evil armies in my opinion. You're going to have to find someone else for the WotR game however.

as far as war of the ring goes, easterlings, especially the kataphracts, are really devestating, almost on par with the elves. as such, they are fairly pricey but they still make a great addition to your mordor force. In skirmish, they share the stat line of a man of gondor, if memory serves me correctly.

In War of the Ring, they are apart of the same army list as Harad.

Maybe I should just stick with Mordor?

No, for the SBG, use Easterlings for sure, especially now there are the new Ringwraiths. But when using WotR, use them as part of a Fallen Realms Army.

I think, if you're playing SBG, they are one of the best evil starting armies, as they have access to good magic, and good troops in terms of defense. Their cavalry is not the best in the game, but they are really a defensive army, that has almost entirely defense 6 or 7 (for their heroes).

I play:
Gondor, Rohan, Dol Guldur, Menoth, JLA (super system), Orcs (BB), Humans (BB), Empire (occaisionally). |
