Our new campaign started this week which is a hybrid of the Fantasy version and Planetary Empires.

Currently we have 7 players and are hoping for an eighth.

We all got to pick 2 tiles and some bonus or another. I got a factory which allows extra free points to be spent on games.
On to the game.

My opponent was Shawn (Locclo) whom I played weeks ago and again in Apocalypse last week. It was straight up Annihilation with victory points to determine the winner. All our terrain consisted of pieces of felt which conferred 4+ saves on the inside but no save if firing through. We also threw some walls in.
12” deployment zones with a very standard deployment for me. This is the second week I got to use my second mob of 3 Mega Nobz not that they survived long. They flanked my 3 BW’s which rolled out hauling 2 mobs of boyz (Red & Orange) and of course my favorites Big Mek with KFF and Burna and 15 Burnas. To the right of all that was 9 Bikers and Biker Boss.

Shawn deployed 3 Rhinos with Grey Wolves in each all having 2 Meltas. 2 Dreds flanked his Redeemer which housed Njal and 5 Termies with lightning claws. To his right he laid out 5 Long Fangs with Missile Launchers.

I have to admit I was completely confused on what to do. I’ve never played an opponent who setup to assault my Speed Freaks.
First the first time since I took off all the Kill Kannonz my Orks moved only 7” instead of 13” on the 1st turn. The bikes all turbo’d to the left to assault the Long Fangs eventually. The rest stuck together in formation and was able to fire. I fired 5 Str. 8 shots at one of his Rhinos. 3 hit!! but all 3 rolled 2 or less for AP.

He moved 2 Rhinos to my left to cut off the bikes and the 3rd stayed with the Redeemer for assist. The Redeemer moved 12” and fired a melta at my right Mega Nob mob and caused a wrecked result. I rolled a 3 on the chart and then 16” Hit on the scatter dice. Now for some unknown reason I decided to send them straight at the one Dred in the middle. I have no clue why I did that because all 6 of his meltas in the Rhinos open up and kill all 3 Mega Nobz!!! 190 points wasted for what? The spot the Trukk blew and the Nobz died is represented by the tan felt in front of his Dred. He also stuns and immobilizes my other Nobz; Trukk and kills a bike or 2.

Second Turn

2 BW’s ram the Redeemer and immobilize and stun it. The 3rd wrecks a Rhino. The Nobz jump out of their doomed Trukk and hoof it through difficult terrain for the 4+ cover save. The bikes shoot then assault the Grey Wolves from the wrecked Rhino losing a couple in combat while the Biker Nob and Biker Boss make short work of the Emperor’s Finest. (BTW I hate all Space Marines. I probably mention that in every post.)

His right Dred blows up the lone BW and my boyz hop out. This next picture is something different. I magnetized my bases awhile ago and this past week I cut up some strips of sheet metal to 4” and painted the middle 2” black. I can get up to 6 boyz on a strip to easily move them around or I can put 2 on opposite ends and the black paint shows max range but still in coherency. They worked pretty well.

Anwho back to the game. His Redeemer does squat. The Long Fangs and the Rhino meltas are slowly taking out bikes thanks to the 4+ cover.

Third Turn

The (orange) boyz’ BW rams and explodes his Redeemer!!! but fails to take out the Dred on my right. Njal and 5 Termies jump out and try to spread out but the Big Mek’s BW shocks them back into a tighter formation. The Burnas open up and get a total of 96 hits!!! I have to point out that Shawn’s rolling was the worst I’ve ever seen in my life and I played a lot of dice games. (I minored in Axis & Allies in college.)
My Mega Nobz exploded his 2nd Rhino which the Bikes then liquidated its contents while losing more biker boyz and getting a wound on both the boss and Nob. Mmmm canned meat. Red Mob assaulted his Dred which killed their ride previous turn. This fight goes on for awhile and I lose more boyz to exploding vehicles than to the Dreds fury. These are pictures at the end of my assault phase:

On his turn his Dred and last Rhino wreck both my remaining BW’s. His Dred with Red mob kills enough boyz to allow me to remove some so the Mega Nobz can join and finish it off on my next turn.

Fourth Turn

This first pic shows why I love dice games. Remember the Nobz' immobilized Trukk? It shoots at his last Rhino, hits with a six, penetrates with a six, and explodes it with a 3rd six!!!

5 Burnas and the Big Mek flame his last Grey Wolves squad then assault with 21 power weapon attacks (7 Burnas were in the back row and couldn’t use their weapons during the shooting phase.) Orange Mob assaults his Right Dred while the Mega Nobz assault his other one Red mob was swatting at. The bikes shoot and assault (finally after being distracted by 2 squads of Wolves) the Long Fangs. Once again the Biker Boss shows how valuable he is when properly escorted across the field. Orange Mob assaults and destroys his last model on the board, his second Dred. Game over. Major Victory which is worth 4 points.

All the vehicles are either exploded, wrecked, or immobilized at the end of the game.

Biker Boss, Big Mek with KFF, BW’s and Mega Nobz all did well this week. Looking forward to next week and actually being able to use the second mob of Nobz. Also the metal strips worked really well.

Great report!

You're welcome for the walls, btw.

Say, what weapon did the Mega Nob trukk have when it exploded that rhino?

Great report! I made some serious errors there in not quite knowing how to deal with the Deff Rollas - and obviously, luck played some part in that (Especially the triple 6s on the Rhino! Crikey...). Those bikes would've been toast if my Redeemer had been in the right place, and from then on my Meltas probably could have made short work of the tanks. Still, a fun game, and at least I stopped you from getting a Massacre result (Took 1040 points worth of Orks with me).

yeah that was another nice bat rep. I never much carred for dark eldar. Every game I have ever seen they hide on there little raiders and hardly do stuff. They rely on there Cannons of death. I mean they need a new dex don't get me wrong but I like playing against armys that have to work at killing you.
