Unless I'm misunderstanding the Furioso Dreadnought wargear options. You can have a ridiculous dreadnought for 200 points... that will easily kill things with far higher points values.

Furioso Dreadnought
-Furioso Librarian Upgrade
-Replace built-in storm bolter with Heavy Flamer (for killing hordes)
-Magna-Grapple (just for a random anti-tank shot)
Powers:The Blood Lance (for a better anti-tank shot)
Might of Heroes (to give you more opportunities to successfully smash things)

This Dread can use its blood fist at strength 10 +D3 attacks from Might of Heroes to insta-gib toughness 5 and below. Or, it can use its force weapon (reducing its strength to "only" 6) and Might of Heroes to give it an awesome chance of pulling off an instant death kill on those nasty T6 W6 'nids (assuming it makes it past their normally high initiative).

Then if it sees some tanks The Blood Lance + Magna Grapple will either destroy them or pull them close enough to destroy.

Then if it runs into infantry it can use its Heavy Flamer. I really don't see any downside.

Hey when I can take 3 for 600 points... and that is only 25% of a 2k army... then that leaves plenty of room for death company (and THEIR dreads), land raiders, predators... etc. If they kill this guy... who is cheaper than a land raider... then the rest of my army will obliterate them. I just wanna make sure I read the codex correctly and I am actually allowed to give him this wargear.

True... however Fur Dreads have a front armour of 13 now lol... So yes it can still be blown up, but a little harder now...

Well its 30% of your 2k army.

And with melts being really more of standard than earlier editions, yes there is a huge downside to it.

Expensive vehicles are expensive.

3000 points.
5000 points and still growing when GW adds something cool.
3500 points centered around 25 Terminators and 12 Dreadnoughts
500 points and just started.

5 Warlords / 5 Reavers / 4 Warhounds of the Legio Pallidus Mor.

Darn... unfortunately to give him Wings of Sanguinius I have to drop one of the other powers. Sure, I could drop The Blood Lance... but then he really isn't that scary to vehicles unless he assaults them. Or, I could drop Might of Heroes and just let him use his base number of attacks. But I don't know if just 4 attacks on the charge is enough. It will be easier to stall him with a mob unit or he will fail to get a good hit on a monstrous creature with only 3-4 attacks.

Also, I can't make him an Epistolary so he can only use one power per turn. So, no Wings->jump->Might->Assault. I guess it could get him up the field faster. And then slow down so he can use Might before he assaults. Agh the possibilities!

Wings of sanguinious.

1st turn smoke

Second turn charge.

Profit.

Ignore all the other fancy-pants upgrades he can get, as he is quite expensive already.. but extremely mobile and for 175pts, bout the same cost as an Ironclad in a drop pod and better in most cases.

I'm going with +d3 attacks over Blood Lance. The Magna Grapple is a little mini Blood Lance against just about everything but Land Raiders, and the extra attacks really help in combat.

200 points in a 2,000 point army is only 10%.....

He was referring to taking 3 of them. So 600/2000...30%

Two, actually. The Tervigon and Tyrannofex. Neither wants to be in melee anyway and will proably be screened by Termagants.
