Picked up Codex Blood Angels yesterday and chuckled when I read the fluff for the Stormraven. The Admechs were digging around in the back of their store rooms and lo... miraculously found another vehicle pattern. If I was a High Lord of Terra, I'd be telling those Admechs to sort their filing systems out, do a proper inventory and maybe there will be some other useful new vehicle designs knocking about.

and maybe mass produce jet bikes again (thats what im hoping for whenever the next Da codex comes out one can dream)

I wish my lawn was emo...
Then it would cut itself.

In the end, SoB are uppity female canines who enjoy their faith in the emperor so much, I'd say they themselves are no longer truly human. They've given up normal life in exchange to become bolter-bitches.

Fixed.

Seriously. Not even a god damned sketch of what the things supposed to look like. We get guidelines for the Hydra, the Manticore, and the Deathstrike. Any toolbag can figure out gluing a Marine to a wolf = TWC, and for all the missing Tyranid stuff, you can just bash together a bigger, meaner, scarier bug. But Blood Angels players cant get so much as something scrawled on a napkin, so we get the bastard offspring of Ms. Valkyrie and Mr. Land Raider after a night of heavy drinking, until FW releases the "Not A Storm Raven" (the Storm Eagle they showed at Games Day) which will likely cost more than any of the unholy Valkyrie-Land raider conversions.

IMO, the new BA codex is a travesty, it completely ignores some of the fluff out there (not to forget that things like the sanguinor(which is a dumb name) have never been mentioned before, ever) and it just smacks of people being out of ideas.

Agreed. The art and Fluff look and read like a 12 year old did them.

I like a lot of the rules in the codex. I wish BT had deep striking Land Raiders. They seem like a fun army to play.

The codex in itself (fluff, art) is just plain ridiculous. Don't care much for it at all. The word 'blood' gets over-used. And why didn't they use the picture on page 4 as cover art instead?

The whole deep striking Land Raiders thing is just bizzare and wrong. From a games mechanic point of view, why would you introduce it when the army already has two Deep Striking transports? (Drop Pod and now Storm Raven)

I really don't think it adds anything to the Blood Angels background and if I were to game with this army, I'd ignore it.

and maybe mass produce jet bikes again (thats what im hoping for whenever the next Da codex comes out one can dream)

The way the codex rules are going, Dark Angels are going to have jetbike squads and heroic intervening deathwing

-Any terrain containing Sly Marbo is dangerous terrain.
-Sly Marbo once played an objective mission just to see what it was like to not meet every victory condition on his own.
-Sly Marbo bought a third edition rulebook just to play meat grinder as the attacker.
-Marbo doesn't need an Eldar farseer as an ally; his enemies are already doomed
-Sly Marbo was originally armed with a power weapon, but he dropped it while assaulting a space marine command squad just so his enemies could feel pain
-Sly Marbo still attacks the front armor value in assault, for pity's sake.

And a whole squad of Robed, angel-winged guys with relic blades who's whole purpose is finding the fallen but they don't show the helmets or anything, like in the several Dark Angel tapestry images.

Plus the new fluff will have Cypher joining with Azrael to have a tea party with Tyranids.

*facepalm*
There's actually a history of the Imperium "joining" with the Necrons. Considering that the Necrons don't really care one way or the other about the politics of the Imperium, they do occasionally show up in aiding Imperial forces. Depending on the losses suffered by the Imperials, they'll either attack afterwards or just leave without making a big fuss.

Imperials, as a whole, aren't as stupidly zealous as people make them out to be and don't seem to be unwilling to leave, rearm and reinforce their task force--then come back with a vengeance.

Dont say GW let loose John Blanche on the art again?
The guy is the single biggest reason GW art looks so damned crappy.

Skinny anorectic marines in the DA codex, spikes, spikes and then even more spikes...with spikes ON the spikes themselves everywhere etc etc.
Its a shame he is let near SM art.

Ok, I demand a source for this, because I have yet to find a single other depiction of necrons in the fluff than as faceless killers of anything living they come across.

You're looking at this as the Imperials walking over to the Necrons and saying "Let's be friends?" rather than the way it's described elsewhere.
The Imperials ride along the coat tails of the Necrons and let the Necrons do most of the heavy lifting, then proceed to either attack the Necrons or leave them be until they withdraw.

As for sources, the only one off the top of my head is 13th Black Crusade. There was a blurb for a specific campaign mission where Necrons showed up and aided a Cadian force in defending one of the Pylons.

Yeah I remember something like that. Driving off the forces of chaos then as the cadians were celebrating their victory the Necrons turned their guns on the Cadians next or something like that. Was in that sentinel world sector part of the campaign.
