So, I'd like to include some bikers in my Space Marine list, as I think they're pretty great tactically, unfortunately, they have such mind-numbingly boring models. So, what do you guys think I could do to spruce up my bikers a bit? Something to consider, my Space Marine chapter has a Greco-Spartan theme.

horsemen, cyber steeds. maybe if you want to push the style convert the bikers with chopper fronts. or any type of beast they can ride (wolf/polarbear!/lizard/beast/LLAMA) but if you spank to stick to greco-spartan theme i would go with horse/robo and attack bikes as chariots or even a lion! put lion heads at the fornt of the bike to give it the theme of lion riding, i remember in fluff the lion is remembered form ancient terra hope this blabber gives you some idea

Hoverbikes perhaps. or if you want something funny= bicycles
But considering the greco-spartan feel, maybe you could just add horse heads and horse motifs to the bikes in stead of completely changing them out for horses.
|
It has been varified by John Hurt that the Ultramarines are indeed the greatest space marine chapter. |

De-chaosify the Chaos bikes? Or the Chaos heavy cavalry, if you like the horsey look.
And/or I like Ultrahawk's horse head idea, they could be modelled to look like metal battering rams on the bike fronts.

Well if you're going for a greek theme why don't you have a bike with a futeristicy chariot attached to the back of it, and on the chariot you could have a space marine operating a autocannon turret or something.

Make the front of the bikes more gothic like the big space ships are with sharp pointed fronts. These are based off ancient Greek warships anyway. You could replace the front armour with something like the front armour on the Master of the Ravenwing jetbike.
You could paint your bikes with a marble pattern.
Replace the skull on the banner pole with a head from an ancient greek 1/72 scale warrior. You could also make busts using the same figures for decorating vehicles and termies with.
The Greek god Hermes was a messenger with winged feet, you could put small wings on the bottom of the legs of your bikers - around the ankle.
Maybe a bit 300, but use Space Wolf backpacks with their wolfhead vents.

Ooh! I like the bit about the boats! I could paint eyes on the "hulls" like they did to ancient greek warships, now there's an image no one will ever mistake! I could do it to the tanks as well!

I have found the best way to make bikers look really nice is to add as much baggage and extras as you can without going overboard, make them look as though their bike is there home. That is usually a good way to add interest as well as not over do it and bring it away from your army.
