Quick question concerning CC and War Gear. I'm making Angry Marines using the Blood Angels codex. I'm going to convert them to have 2x4s with nails and bats instead of chainswords. Which brings me to my question, if I do that and model them to have that, they do still have Bolters that they can shoot with right? even though they don't have it on their model. Then, what if I model them to have just bolters? If I charge an enemy do I get my base attacks+charge+2 close combat weps (so a normal rine would have 1+1+1=3) even though they don't have it on their model, do they still have 2 close combat weapons?

if its in there wargear i would say yes

Generally speaking, if you have a unit that is clearly represented by a certain unit type, it will be assumed that they have all of their basic wargear. Not everyone models frag and krak grenades on their Marines, but they come as a basic part of the unit for example.

That said, you will come across people who will have problems with it not being WYSIWYG. YMMV.

But which units in the BA codex have a bolter, pistol and CCW? I don't see any, but the question could equally apply to Chaos Marines and Space Wolves.

Tactical Marines don't have chainswords. Assault Marines don't have bolters.

I'm getting the BA codex tomorrow so I havn't looked in it, if thats the case then I should be good with the rules. I looked up Death Company rines on the GW site and it said their war gear included bolter, pistol, chainswords. Though it does say Boltgun or Bolt Pistol.

Yes, Nosferatu is right on this one, it's not an issue for you, since it's an either/or situation. On the other hand, I don't think it would be a problem if you didn't model a boltgun, bolt pistol, AND CCW on a model that has all of them. This is the case with CSM and if you've seen the standard GW CSM set, it doesn't come with enough pieces to model all three weapons. I wouldn't worry about it.

Got the codex yesterday and its all gonna be alright, this is gonna be such a fun army to play with.
