I'm thinking about adding some jetbikes to my Eldar army. I've got three unassembled Shining Spears that I think I'm gonna build as plan Guardian Jetbikes. My question is, based on the rumors about new Eldar plastic kits in June, should I buy more jetbikes now or will they release a new model?

Me: I can turn it down, if the screams of dying orks are annoying you.
Her: That's ok, I love hearing the screams of dying orks.

My armies (W-D-L):
2,000 (about 1,200 painted and now I'm feeling the call of Russ) 3-4-3
2,000 (about 1,000 painted, WiP) 0-1

The only thing I've heard for certain is the NightSpinner. I'm sure someone else will correct me if more are coming. I don't know how I feel about Guardian jetbikes..They're just over 3 times the cost for a regular guardian but you get increased movement, armor save, and toughness. Comparatively the DE jetbike is 25 pts and get's way more stat increases and I really hate fielding them since they eat up points quickly.

Actually, they're just under 3 times the cost of regular guardians, but the fact that they're bikes, they're tougher, and they can move in the assault phase help. Also, if I run a squad of them, should I include a Warlock, an Autarch, or both?

There was talk that there might be other plastic kits with the Nightspinner and new jetbikes and re-cut Vypers were mentioned.

I have the apaocalype formation set which I use as regular units in regular games. The guardians on jetbikes (9) work great. I put my autarch on a jet bike with a fusion gun and put them together. They have mobility and firepower and can survive being shot at. The biggest down side in using them is that they take up a lot of physical space on the field. I'm not sure if I'll buy more since I won't get such a huge savings, but I'm very happy with the ones I have. I use them about half of the time.

Two units of three with shuriken cannon are great for sending up the flanks to harrass your opponents, they can't ignore them and really messes with any plans they might have...

There is a finished new jet bike sculpt by Jes Goodwin, but no release date given. Seems like it won't come in June either.

Prob. not...but making your own is much more rewarding IMO.
As for Jetbikes, they work and they don't.

They are still pricey for what you get, and don't exactly fit into the Mech formula.
They offer much utility to a list: last minute scoring, clean-up crew in regards to shooting, then there's the light harrassment with the shuriken cannon.

Everything about them is to generally keep out of trouble...even with defensive upgrades they are just at MEQ levels...and are really not that durable with the low model count and the inability to 'hide' bar reserves and BLos terrain (the taller and wider kind due to height and base size).

This is a little story about four people named Everybody, Somebody, Anybody, and Nobody.
There was an important job to be done and Everybody was sure that Somebody would do it.
Anybody could have done it, but Nobody did it.
Somebody got angry about that because it was Everybody's job.
Everybody thought that Anybody could do it, but Nobody realized that Everybody wouldn't do it.
It ended up that Everybody blamed Somebody when Nobody did what Anybody could have done.
