I've always been a proponent of Land Raiders, and never understood why 5 man squads in Razorbacks are so popular. 5 man squads are squishy. The survivability of a Land Raider is just so much greater, they can hold more troops, and you can assault out of them. Please, if you think Razorback spam is the way to go for competitive, tell me why.

Well, think on this for a moment:

Your first game is against a Vulkan list.

Say hello to 8 Multi Meltas, and goodbye to your 250 point Land Raider. Next turn: Rinse and Repeat. Sooner than you can blink, all you've got left is a bunch of squishy jumpy marines, and a librarian, who is also very squishy, considering the mass of Melta fire.

Don't get me wrong, I love Land Raiders, but I would only ever field one at 1500 points or more, let alone two.

I'm still trying to get my head around the new BA codex, but it seems to me that Rhino/Razorback is definitely the way to go

Never field 1 Landrider. 2+ or none.You have a good start.

Don't take that much marine. You take 5 guys and you don't have enough infantries and wargears. You take 9 guys and you still don't have enough infantries and wargears. Then why take 9 guys? The core of your list are LRs.

You need some other units to stop enemie's melta deliver coming close to your LR.

And: Vulkan cannot take 8 MM at 1000, unless you take minimium troops and max speeders.

Yes, you cannot assault from a moving razorback.

Why you must ASSAULT from them?
