I am a 40K ork player but i have some buddys that play warmachine/hordes. Recently i got a small set of skorne models off of a friend and have no idea where i should go from here.
i have
Lord Tyrant Hexeris
Titan Cannoneer
Praetorian 'Swordsmen' Unit
lol so the real questin i should be asking is if that is a good start and are these units any good or should i just start over?

I think you have a good start there, cannoneer is a very nice beast and you can never go wrong with a unit of swordsman. As for Hexeris your playstyle will judge which caster is best for you. Good luck.

You need to get couple of beasts for fury generation to the warlock. Molik Karn, Titan Gladiator and Bronzeback are good, at least for now, as the final rules have not been published yet.
From infantry paingiver tormentors are solid, they help you manage the beasts and then the cetrati are also good heavy infantry.
You need to decide on the warlock/ playstyle you want to play and then we will be able to give better suggestions as some of the troops/ beasts work better with some casters others with other. The swordsmen are a cheap and will fill the part for every warlock, same can be said of the paingiver tormentors.

watch out for Molik Karn, it seems he is causing quite the uproar in the gaming community. many slingshot lists have abused him something fierce lately, many expect him to be changed for the final revision.

I hope they change eMakeda and not Karn as Karn itself is not over the top.
Are you planning on playing pure beasts and caster in 15 points or also units? It's difficult to get a decent list in 15 points using only beasts for Hexeris as his feat and 2 of his spells work best with infantry models.

It's a good army to learn the rules, you have a heavy hitter in gladiator and some infantry screen in pretorians. The rhino can also deal with infantry, his strength is not high enough for dealing with other heavies. You will probably struggle a bit with fury as there is only two beasts on the list, but the skorne lights are so meh that I don't see a better alternative available to two heavies.
