I was looking to order some resin pieces from http://www.sciborminiatures.com/ but wanted to know if the guy is on the up and up.

Anyone have some experience ordering from there?

Thanks

EDIT: wasn't really sure what forum this would go in...but since it relates to modeling and using a certain company's models, it should fit in here alright.

Scibor does some really amazing work and I've seen him doing amazing work for quite some time so I would guess that he's on the up and up or he would've been called out a long time ago.

I've purchased two of his minis on ebay. He did some extra (free) resculpting for me at my request then shipped them (from Poland to US).

Everything went well, the mini's are both fricken Awesome, nuff said.

I just placed my first order (4 sets of shields) a few weeks ago and it was perfect. It actually got to me faster than I had anticipated, too.

And, of course, the sculpts were fantastic.

So, in my opinion and experience, YES, Scibor is on the "up and up". I'll be placing another order soon.

Excellent. I've been eyeing some of the tank conversion bits on his site for a while.
...not to mention all the other goodies he has for sale.

I've been a customer of his for years; shipping may take a while (since I'm in the US and he's half way around the world), but he's always come through for me and his work has never disappointed. He packs his stuff well enough to withstand the most ham-handed of postal ape.

Very nice models. The Dwarf Riding the bear is especially awesome, having seen it in person.

I second the positive reports on Scibor. Got my stuff within 10 days...I was amazed at the speed.

I also ordered from maxmini at the same time....16 days went by, no product. Sent 2 emails....Finally got a response that they were sorry, but my order would be shipped at the end of the week. Been another week +3 days since then.....I doubt I will reorder from them.

I also like Hasslefree and Armorcast, and DragonForge.

what the hell! I placed an order from scibor on 3-3-2010, it has been a month and still no package. I've sent 4 e-mails with NO response. I don't expect to get my stuff uber quick (coming from poland and all), but i would think a month should be plenty of time to ship, right?

It is the 3rd Millennium. For more than a hundred months Games Workshop has sat immobile on the Golden Throne of Nottingham. It is the foremost of wargames by the will of the neckbeards, and master of a million tabletops by the might of their inexhaustible wallets. It is a rotting carcass writhing invisibly with business strategies from the early Industrial Revolution Age. It is the Carrion Lord of the wargaming scene for whom a thousand veteran players are sacrificed every day, so that it may never truly die. Yet even in its deathless state, GW continues its eternal vigilance. Mighty battleforce starter-sets cross the online-store-infested miasma of the internet, the only route between distant countries, their way lit by a draconian retail trade-agreement, the legal manifestation of the GW's will. Vast armies of lawyers give battle in GW's name on uncounted websites. Greatest amongst its soldiers are the Guardians of the IP, the Legal Team, bio-engineered super-donkey-caves. Their comrades in arms are legion: the writing team and countless untested rulebooks, the ever vigilant redshirts, and the writers of White Dwarf, to name only a few. But for all their multitudes, they are barely enough to hold off the ever-present threat from other games, their own incompetence, Based Chinaman - and worse. To support Games Workshop in such times is to spend untold billions. It is to support the cruelest and most dickish company imaginable. These are the tales of those times. Forget the power of sales discounts and Warhammer Fantasy Battle, for so much has been dropped, never to be re-published again. Forget the promise of cheaper digital content and caring about the fanbase, for in the GW HQ there is only profit-seeking, Space Marines and Sigmarines. There is no fun amongst the hobby shops, only an eternity of raging and spending, and the laughter of former employees who left GW to join better companies.

Scibor is indeed a great company. A friend of mine gets their stuff fairly regularly, and I can assure you that both their bases and their minis are great. The Dwarf King on Bear that Darth Bob mentioned is especially nice.

Shipping from Parts of Europe and asia to the states take from 10 days-45 days...

I ship to Europe and recieve all the time and you never can tell what customs decides to look at and keep on their desks...Ive had parts come from moscow that took 6 days Ive had them take four months....same part same address, same everything...

Scibor is an awesome company with a great reputation and have little control over customs and the postal service. Find out when they sent, and be patient it sucks but hey you'll appreciate it so much more when it arrives.
