I have watched some truly decent work go neglected in both those areas of the boards because they aren't 40k models. Fantasy and Warmachine and others drift uncommented on and without the praise they are worthy of, or just some feedback and helpful advice, because they aren't space marinez.

So I'd just like to request you take the time to look at those threads that aren't 40k related and offer some encouragement and praise to your fellow Dakkites based on the merits of their work rather than the subject matter. Take some time and look at some of the great work being done by some talented folks and also offer support and advice to those who are still learning their art.

I'm an infrequent looker-at of blogs and stuff.

I don't keep a diary or blog, and tend not to care that other people do. I'm more of a 'post in relevant forum with stuff I've done' kinda guy.

You can tell that by the entire two topics I've started.

People look at what they're interested in. Personally, it's the subject matter that draws me in to the thread. I'm sure there's plenty of good Warmachine stuff out there, but the thing is, I don;t care. It's not relateable to me because I don;t play that system. I look at Space Marines because I like Space Marines, and want to see what others have done with their Space Marines.

Part of it may be how the Blog is set up. I started a High Elf blog but its only got 2 pictures. My goal is to keep updating my orginal post to keep things neat and tidy. I also understand though, blogs take time to build, response will vary, and often people probably wait until you have 2-4 units up to give really quality feedback. Instead of a 1 at a time thing.

I understand your intent and agree with you superficially that it's a shame other minis and users are a bit ignored in comparison, but at the same time you can't really hold users responsible for their interests... People want to see what they want to see and since this is an elective for fun venue, there is absolutely no incentive to get them to diversify. GW has managed to create a cult-of-Mac type attitude in the community where people blindly only look to them... and frankly good on them for accomplishing it that isnt an easy thing to develop in a client base.

Probably best just to come to terms with the fact that most people on this forum are 40k fans first and foremost, and adjust expectations accordingly. I definitely don't think the GW fans on here are doing anything wrong by being just what they are... GW fans.

I post as someone who is interested in 40K and historical wargames, not WHFB and War Machines.

That said, it can be worthwhile to look at other stuff. It can take you out of your comfort zone, and open your eyes to new possibilities.

I suppose I wouldn't search it out, but if I stumbled across it while browsing the gallery at random, I wouldn't ignore it either.

Agreed. I check the actual gallery and blogs themselves very rarely, relying on the posts shown on the main page to get my attention. When it's mostly 40K blogs and pics being posted, that's what's going to get checked out the most. If I see some interesting work being posted up though, I'm not going to shun it for not being 40K.

I've been too depressed to check the P*M blogs since I haven't been P or Ming...

I would post in some of the warmachine etc threads, but I feel that as I don't play, I don't know enough about them to really pass judgement, and so don't want to look a douche by saying something stupid.

Wouldn't mind playing some warmachine, but my area is lacking in other players.

When i look in gallery , all the picture appear randomly o_o
so i guess im getting a good mix when i browse gallery + vote

MGS... I couldn't agree more. Ive lately been feeling the same way and actually almost started a thread about it... I feel like I get much less feed back on any WHFB threads I start but I guess its just a matter of interest of other people as said before... Maybe if next time I title the thread "Khorne Warriors... In space" I will get more feed back
