A Skull at the Throne of Khorne

Hey all, I'm in the planning stages of making a model based off of the comic character ' the Rogue Trooper' however I'v hit a bit of a hitch. I don't know what I could use to recreate the rifle he uses, I could easily make the rest of him using Cadian and Catachan parts but I have no idea what I could use for his gun. I don't think I could greenstuff it because frankly my greenstuffing skills are below the description of "terrible" rather something like sub-terrible, I'unno. Anyway, I'm guessing that quite a few of you wont know what it looks like so here is an image to illustrate (albiet not as well as I'd like).
If anyone could point me in the right direction that would be extremely helpful, thank you in advance.

You might be able to use a sniper rifle barrel, the mag could be one off a bolter, as well as the scope (I guess the sniper scope would work well also, though). It seems to have a really strange looking body, how good are you with plasticard?
Hope this helps,
H.A.

Hm, yeah that could work thanks. I'm not sure if I'll be able to do that with plasticard but there's only one way to find out. Again, thanks for the ideas. Even if it's not 100% accurate it'll still be damn close thanks to you. It's too bad this will take forever to actually get done though because I have no space to work

A rogue trooper based IG army would be Kick @ss !!!
Keep in mind that originally RT was one of an entire squad/platoon ? of genetically engineered troops that were ambushed, or betrayed or whatever, leaving only him alive. That's why his equipment all has personalities, they contain the personality chips of his dead squad-mates. If memory serves me right (and it might not as it was a loooong time ago) I think he was originally trying to get his buddies back to base/earth so they could get new bodies.
Besides, a bunch of bright blue Catachan type guys would look great on the tabletop.

Whoever appeals to the law against his fellow man is either a fool or a coward. Whoever cannot take care of himself without that law is both. For a wounded man shall say to his assailant, "If I Die, You are forgiven. If I Live, I will kill you." Such is the Rule of Honor.

I'd just use the 28mm GI miniatures that GW used to make (back when they had the 2000AD licence) for mine. Still have rogue standing (helmeted) and with lazooka in the bits box somewhere.
Otherwise, start with CATACHANS. They have the bare-chested look and come with short mohawks.
The rifle can be made from plasticard carved/sanded into the right shape and the end of a lasgun barrel added to it.
Trim a cadian vox pack to suit to make bagman and add some of the SM bolter magazine pouches to his legs.
As for Helm: Cadian empty helmet. File/sand off the eagle and glue a thin strip of plasticard in its place as the chip.

There's some stand-ins in this doc. But yeah, I'd go with catachans - especially if you can get some of the old metal ones, as those models rule.

Yep, an entire company (at least) that were mostly wiped out in their first drop by ambush. Of course, being set-up by one of their own generals didn't help.
You get to play through that bit in the (PS2 at least, Rebellion computer game). One by one as your squadmates are blown up or just killed.
If I was going to go with a comic strip themed army, it would be a GI Imp Guard one. As it is though, I like my redcoats more.

I had thought about doing the rest of Rogue's squad, while they were living, that is. I'm still trying to decide whether to do them or not. I also thought about making some Nort and Souther troops just for kicks. I figure I can make a Nort using the Forge world renegade militia torsos that have the burlap sack-ish masks on, all I would need to do then is add some wire and a tank on the back and I'm done.
Edit: And thanks to everyone for the help!

GW used to make A single souther and Nort figure as part of their range.
Both made it into 40k blisters back in the late 80s (probably as "space adventurers"). I've still got a couple of Norts (they even say "nort" on the tab.)
