I have a circle army and I feel that they have had a major hit in mk2.

I think the current rules and cards favor Skorne but that is all tentative, alot of it has to do with the current rules for Karn. I played a 35 point game earlier today with Legion and was able to pull out a win against a very well played Denegerah. Hordes seem to be comparable finally, I can only hope this translates into live when they release the new rule book this summer.

I look forward to being able to stand toe to toe against most warmachine players at tournaments without having to worry about fighting an uphill battle from the start.

I haven't had a chance to try out circle myself, what list are you running?

I think a lot of the factions have currently problems. The eMakeda Karn issue is known and legion has problems with other warlocks not matching to the powerhouse eThagrosh. The factions are not internally balanced as well as warmachine is.

I think a lot depends on the new stuff that's coming with the new army books, the titan sentry for example looks like it could make some interesting thing possible for skorne.

You have to get a hold of the PDF for the MKII rules and Cards for Hordes their rule set isn't due out until the summer.

I am loving the new rule set so far their are some short comings and over looks, like the fact that the carnivean still does not have open fists even though it is modeled as if it does, which means that there is no warbeast on the legion side that can perform double handed throw.

I plan on starting a Hordes army once the new rulebook is out. Based on what happened to the Warmachine rules, there are still likely to be changes to the Hordes one before release. Thus some of the deficiencies may well be corrected. There will also be a number of new models to add to each army, which will add variety. Hopefully, when the dust has settled, every army will have a reasonable shot at winning a game. If it does, then PP will have achieved quite a remarkable result.

I think it's too early to tell. I would guess that the factions maintain their relative strengths, may get some new stuff to cover up some weaknesses, and we will see changes from the beta test release.

Circle was arguably the best faction in Mk I (Legion being the other strong case). Considering that Circle was competing with the WM factions in the national tourney (took second the first year they were out, iirc), I think Circle was pretty solid. If rebalancing the game involves knocking them down a peg, I see that as a good thing for the game as a whole.

My guess is that Circle will be just fine, it just may take a bit to figure out the new 'best net build list'. And maybe instead of Kruger, one of the other locks will be the new power.

The current comments from PP say that 90% of the Hordes rules and models are now set in stone so not too many changes are coming.

In templecon the top Hordes faction was everblight, in adepticon Skorne ruled the Hordes so I would say that there is no clear top faction out, it still comes to player skill and luck as it should.

I'm glad I bought a Trolls army.

They are filth in MkII.

Probably Nurgle, Africa has the lock on that.

I'm quite confident I could play any of the hordes factions and beat any other faction. I don't think one is noticeably better than the other.

I do find that the Trolls are quite well balanced internally. I'd feel confident taking just about any 2 casters to nationals.

i voted trollbloods. they have great beasts and great infantry with multiple stacking and redundant buffs.
your fellcaller died? no problem!, you still have the krielstone and prayers on your kriel warriors!
thats not to say i think trollbloods as a faction are overpowered, just that they seem to have several very easy combos and have the hordes general resilience vs. assassination.
also, tough warlocks- ARGH!
