Subject: Having trouble with Mech Eldar

I am having trouble with a Mech eldar force. The player is good. He also plays SW, so knows how to beat a SM army.
Last night he had: prism cannon,2 wave serpants and a falcon with a special shield. I roll 2 dice for the damage chart and use the lowest.
The special field lost me the game. He would move Full-Out a lot. Disembark troops, then embarking, when able.
I need fore anti vehicle firepower. Melta guns don't work aginst a player who avoids them. Flamers would have been a better choice. Deepstrike tank hunters get destroyed on their 2nd turn.
I can't even find a Cheese, SW force just for mobile Eldar.

mech eldar are tough cookies.
this where terrain is very important.
when setting up terrain make sure there is at least one piece of area terrain. make the only open areas in the center of the board so he is channeled into a kill zone.
focusing your fire is important. pick an enemy unit and shoot everything that can shoot it at it, he can only pass so many saves.
if its an objectives game place the ones you get to place in terrain so if he wants it he has to chance a dangerous terrain test.
Mech up yourself. scouts in LSSs can assault him in the first turn of the game or they can outflank to get around behind, and they can keep up with him.

The LRR is as whole other subject.
No jet bikes just falcon varriants. I own, but don't use a redeemer. The beginning of the game, Firepower is important.
Send lots of shots at the vehicles. Most of them have special fields and flat-out cover save.
I am having trouble getting enough firepower from each troop type.
I did not see troops deployed for more than 2 turns. I had 3 SoB gunlines, that is the only reason he deployed any troops. He did have deep striking warpSpiders. They were on the board the most. He is a experianced player vs. SM.
If I can get some firepower/grenades to hit the wave serpents from behind. I did get some jump sisters behind a prism cannon and took it out. The sisters got shot up bad after that.
I was think of Deepstriking LS with MM. No other weapon. They would not last more than a turn or 2.
We all know to move all vehicles, so not to give the opponent auto hit attacks on vehicles.
Preditor Destructors or Vindicaters? What would people reading this prefer?

You want the anti-light armor variant, Autocannon turret with Lascannon sponsons. It'll toss out enough shots per turn to get past those holofields.
Mechdar are a tough army to fight when played well. Like Grey Templar said, it's all about focusing your fire.

I play that kind of eldar army, and what I hate are missile launchers/autocannons/plasmaguns etc shooting at me from range. Except for fire prisms, few things in the eldar army have really good range. Vehicles are tough, but also expensive, so a few glancing hits a turn is all you need to make the eldar player fight on your terms.
Also, in your explanation you say: "He would move Full-Out a lot. Disembark troops, then embarking, when able."
You can't move more than 12" before disembarking, and after you embark a unit you can't move more than 12". Also, you can't embark+disembark in a single turn. Maybe that's not what you meant, and I'm preaching to the choir, but if your opponent is ignorant of these rules, they are making him vastly more effective than he should be.

As an Eldar player I must say that simple Missile launchers and Autocannons are our bane. They are cheap/free for our opponents and our WS energy prow does nothing to lower their dmg. I much rather see someone wasting points on S9-10 ranged weapons knowing that they spent a ton of points on them, instead of other things, just to have their Strength dropped to 8.
As for Landraiders? All Eldar bring BLs, Firedragons or both....no LR survives against Eldar....except the stupid BT ones with their blessed hull... lol

I have been using the preditor destructor for a while now. My 2 dreads have the 2 X duel auto cannons.

Focus fire?
Their backfield is rather clear. He can zoom from 1 side to another if I get a LOS, I am lucky or my troops are being assaulted.
I used 2 LR a while ago," His reply was to Next time use more star cannons?, Anti Vehicle weapons.
I am working on a cheezy list to go aginst MechEldar.
HS x 3 pred destructors, Dreads with quad auto cannons. Some razerbacks with lasers.
I don't want to bring Long Fangs(dev squad). They will be targeted early or in a turn I will have a falcon dumping out assault troops. Even the dire avengers with their version of rapid fire takes out whole units. Automatically Appended Next Post: Anti -Mech Eldar Army list.

Power swords work for me in Assault combat ( or aginst me). The no armor save is cool.

Well, the list looks quite good vs Eldar.
Autocannons are the best anti-tank weapons vs heavy Eldar skimmers.
I'd take a Rune Priest instead of a Wolf Priest in order to counter the Eldar psyker(s).

Autocannons sure are good against Eldar skimmers, but they aren't the best weapon the Space Wolves (and Space Marines) have available. Strength 8 weaponry penetrates AV12 twice as much as Strength 7 weaponry (like Autocannons). Since you can bring more Missile Launchers (in the form of Long Fang squads) than Autocannons, I'd say go with the Missile Launchers. Also, Typhoon Missile Launchers are great weapons against Eldar skimmers, just be careful with your Land Speeders, as the Eldar have a lot of Strength 6 weaponry waiting to shoot those Land Speeders down.

Long fangs with missile launchers are great. I will have to go mech. Unless I place all/most of my foot troops with 1 or 2 LF, they will get shot up by Falcon type small arms fire. The eldar are a elite army. The darn vehicles are a pain but only 1/2 the problem. The dire avengers bladestorm is nasty when killing troops.
My opponent is good. There are 2 brothers. Who play a lot at home. The brother who plays Eldar also plays SW and uses Njal( SW Master psyker) .
He Stays out of dispell range, using Guide,fortune. No psychic attack spells just things to boost his army's ability. I used NJal 4 or 5 times but he did not do his job real well. I made a Rhino to get Njal into the action but that draws a lot of fire.
I want to destroy his vehicles and make all his troops walk. There I can shoot them up. Put the game in my terms.
I am going to use the Mech army 1 time.
You guys are right, I should use LF w/ missiles. If they can take out a vehicle each turn. The LF lasting 2 game turns, I should get their points worth.

Well, autocannons seems to be more dangerous since they provide twice the number of shots.
I'm too lazy to do the math.
