Well, I've been lurking and even made a couple of posts so it's probably about time I did the introduction bit.

My name's Simon Coombs, used to be a member of the old Dakka around the turn of the millenium, but got sick for a couple of years and let things slide for a while.

Originally from the UK, I've lived in the San Fernando Valley for about 13 years now.

In my 40's (sad, I know), but the plus side to that is I don't need anyone's permission to have a bunch of hooligans come over to play!

I work in Visual Effects and was the one of the prime movers behind the BloodQuest movie that, sadly, never made it to fruition. Best not to mention "Final Fantasy - The Movie" when I'm in earshot!

Obviously, that explains the screen name.

The BloodQuest kill team on p. 221 of the 4th edition rule book were commissioned by me. Unfortunately, a friend borrowed them and I never got them back...

I'm planning to finally get a more-or-less permanent game table set up in my garage within the next couple of weeks and this seems like as good a place as any to say I'd be happy to host some games.

I'm in Winnetka, which is in the West Valley near Canoga Park, Woodland Hills, Northridge, Tarzana.

I used to be a regular at the Northridge GW, which reminds me that if anyone knows Shad Keating (a former manager) or Tyler and Sam (two brothers who used to practically live at the Northridge store), I would love to hear from them.

That's probably far more information than most people care to read, so I'll now return you to your normal programming...

Hey! I'm in my 40's too - nothing wrong with that!

(It certainly beats the alternative!)

Please post pics of your art if you can!

I should probably drag this model back out and dirty it up a bit. This was done for BloodQuest, so about 10 years old now!

Nice stuff - more please!

(Though isn't that a Pre-Heresy Devastator marking on the assault ramp?)

I'll see what I can find.

I'm sure you're right about the ramp marking, at the time it just seemed like it needed something...

How is it they live in such harmony - the billions of stars - when most men can barely go a minute without declaring war in their minds about someone they know.
