GW discontinued their bits service long ago and the various websites that try to fill the niche only have plastic bits generally available. i'm intersted in doing a conversion with astorath but it hinges on finding out exactly how many parts he comes in. are the arms and shoulders separate from the body? is the body separate from the wings/backpack/rolls of toilet paper? thanks in advance.

He's not actually released yet (releases on the 17th). All it says on the GW site is that he's in five parts- no idea WHICH parts though.

Wait another week I guess and it should be a lot easier to find out.

Sanguinor is 4 pieces, so i would assume that the extra part for Astorath is the axe...

2 wings, jump pack w/toilet paper, body, and axe...
that should be it...
since the arms follow the line of the body, i would think they are not seperate, but that the hands are part of the axe...

we'll see next week...

cheers

i was figuring he might have made his way into some preview packs seeing as how a few already painted models have made it to ebay. i'll have to wait another week i guess... rebump in 7 days!

Yup, it comes in 5 parts. 2 wings, backpack, main body and the axe has both hands attached to the haft. Hope this helps

I will try to post pics later in the day.

sweet, thanks!... the pics would be much appreciated. if i have to hack off too many parts, it's not worth converting him so it'd be nice to know before special ordering him at the FLGS.

The left arm is attached to the hair all the way upto the wrist, while the right arm is free to around mid bicep. What sort of shape are you looking at doing? Backpack scrolls attach to the base slotta.

hmmm... doesn't sound like i'd be able to use him then. i was hoping both arms/shoulder pads were removable. i planned to use him for the basis of a new mephiston conversion but i'm not seeing mephy's hood/collar physically fitting in with the overhead arms if they're sculpted with the body.
