Subject: Death Company Tycho??

Raging-on-the-Inside Blood Angel Sergeant

In the recent games workshop updates about the Blood Angels they describe DC tycho as part off the DC unit, in both an army list and as part of the new article on BA characters.
Is there somewhere in the codex that indicates he can join the DC unit as DC tycho? Iʻm asking cause he loses the independent character special rule when he becomes DC tycho.
This would make DC in a transport much more appealing!
Thanks for any input.
RD

DC Tycho is not an IC and cannot Join the DC unit, nor is he ever part of the DC unit.

Hmmm... yeah thatʻs what I thought, (about both Tycho and GW)
It would give the bolter DC so much more fluffiness and usefulness, so I had to ask in case I missed some hidden description of the death company somewhere. Thanks.

I know that there is absolutely no rule support for him being part of the DC but he seems so worthless to wander around on his own....it would give both him and the bolter DC a purpose if they were together
|
-Any terrain containing Sly Marbo is dangerous terrain.
-Sly Marbo once played an objective mission just to see what it was like to not meet every victory condition on his own.
-Sly Marbo bought a third edition rulebook just to play meat grinder as the attacker.
-Marbo doesn't need an Eldar farseer as an ally; his enemies are already doomed
-Sly Marbo was originally armed with a power weapon, but he dropped it while assaulting a space marine command squad just so his enemies could feel pain
-Sly Marbo still attacks the front armor value in assault, for pity's sake. |

Well, the rules aren't based off "Worth". They are based off what the rules actually are. Mepheston also is not an IC, nor is the <Arnahld>Sanguniator</Arnahld>.

Yeah it does seem like the two just naturally go together. It would be fun to play them that way. GW, can you hear me???

Pg 41, BA codex.... Note that there are two different profiles for Captain Tycho, one for the relatively sane Captain, and one to represent Tycho following his induction into the Death Company...
Now if the DC Tycho profile represents him in the fraking Death Company how can he be part of any other unit or unable to join them ?????
An at the same time it explains why DC Tycho isn't an IC. He isn't intended to be in any unit but the Death Company.

That is what you call "Fluff".

No, it is not "fluff". It is an explaination of why there are 2 different profiles for Tycho. If it is fluff then why contain the provision that" you may only field one of them in your force."
If you check the various entries for units/characters in the BA codex you will find that the fluff for each comes BEFORE the profile listing and rules concerning the unit come after the profile.
The paragraph I quoted ref Tycho (just like the one in the Rhino entry stating all rhino & rhino variants have Lucifer engines) comes after the profile. It is a rules explaination of why there are 2 Tycho profiles.

Ok, fine, it's rules.
It still doesn't say he is part of a Death Company Unit.

The line Is fluff, as it has no in game rules.
Unless "relatively sane captain" is an ingame rule?
