So our gaming group is planning an apoc game for the end of the month but after looking through the rulebooks it looks like nids have a few outdated old rules. I was looking at the datasheet "Endless swarm" I think, and got a bit concerned that I wouldn't be able to use without number since it doesn't exist anymore. Another formation that's bothering me is the "Living Fortress" since I can't give the tyrants the stated biomorphs and they can't go to ground for the +1 armour save. Some of the other rules for other models (biotitans) simply require using the new rules which is fine, but for the ones stated above what should be the correct course of action?

I haven't spoken to the guys yet, but I figured I would come here for some advice. So, anything useful to help an old nid player out?

There are a couple of options for outdated rules references:

The first is to not use any datasheet that refers to old rules.
The second is to modify them to suit the current codex.
Alternatively, you can just use the appropriate rules from the old codex specifically for those datasheets.
Or finally you could just use the old codex entirely.

Any of those bar the first, you would obviously want to run past the other people taking part in the game.

Ok, thanks for the suggestions. I was planning on running it by our group and they are pretty easy going. I was really hoping for some second opinions on the matter...I think you pretty much nailed all the options.

It would be a shame to have to use the first option since I deliberately bought 60 gaunts and hormagaunts just so I could use the endless swarm just before the new codex came out.
