Been using the ABOR warboss as the warboss for my orks, but its not doing it for me. So I started converting one.

Turning out nice, only problem is it uses megarmor as a base. SO the question comes down to:

Would you care, regular play, tournment play if he's used as a regular(non-mega armor) one, assuming of course I inform you ahead of the game and during....

Hope more old fools come to their senses and start giving you their money instead of those Union Jack Blood suckers...

imo if you can explain it with a cool story you can play it, you could (for example) say that the mega armour he's wearing is just fethed up and not working anymore, and that he is just wearing it because it looks damn cool

I most definitely wouldn't care about the contradiction, as long as you tell me about it or remind me about it during the game. In my opinion, anyone that can't keep up with a note about not having mega armour is a little slow.

Writing internet fiction is kind of like throwing out messages in bottles into a churning sea composed entirely of messages in bottles, the chances of of your message getting noticed and someone being sent out to rescue you is punishingly slim. But every once in a blue moon, someone who owns a big boat made of money finds your message and agrees to let you ride on his big boat made of money as long as you keep making messages for him.

Because Matt Ward didn't write our Codex. Otherwise we would have had Scything Tyrants with Scything Nidfists that can re-roll re-rolls and that can have a bodyguard of 10 Scything Guards and a Scything Prime that could ride in a Scything Pod. Or something to that effect.

I doubt anyone will admit not wanting to play with you because your ork has mega-armor. In the end it comes down to the player, not the mini's. You could use a pot of paint as your ork as far as I care. As long as the player is fair and fun then it shouldn't be an issue.

To be honest as long as the intention is simply to have fun it doesn't really matter to me.

Having played using paper counters it's not always about the mini's (possible heresy here) but more about the spirit in which the game is played.

As long as the base size is the same I don't care what is on top of it.

I would care, but only after the 237 other things I care about more have been taken care of.

Besides, megarmor is kewl...
