So, being an armored chapter i decided to really take my time and work on a nice and clean scheme for my army. My Dreadnought seems to be taking on a really good look so far even though its just getting its base coat, i still like the way it is turning out. I've already gotten more ideas on what i want to do with it but i want to take my time. So here is my progress so far.

Leme know what you think. I'll be working on him as a primary project so i hope to have updates frequently. Please C&C.

i'd add a bit more bling to the dread. the AOBR dreads are a bit sparse for the honored warriors of the chapter role they play. if you've got an extra banner, purity seals, icon, etc... throw them on an empty area or on top (for the standard). also, i'd put something under his left foot as it doesn't look like he's walking because of the bowlegged nature of 40k dreads yet his foot in mostly in the air. also, the pegs on his feet are made to fit into the holes on the bottom side of the base; if you're not going to cut them off, you should drill a hole in the base so they fit in. as for the foot still in the air afterwards, you can even use a simple rock you find in the garden/street if you don't want to use something from your bits box. hope that helps.

Ive already adjusted the leg issue, and as for Bling i have some stuff i can add to him. I'll be working on him more so i do plan on adding some other bits i have from other stuff ive collected. As for the base ill probably do a simple sand base for the time being.

Good start, the only problem is the AOBR dread is bland. You need to kit it out with bitz, purity seals, scrolls, anything you've got to make it seem less like an AOBR and more like an Aurora Chapter.

Well with very very little written on the Aurora Chapter ill have to be using Scrolls and seals for the most part and i have a few picked out but i wanted to get the base down and then build off of that.

Looks very nice, will look forward to seeing more of this chap as he progresses.

Do you have any photo's of the rest of your aurora marines so we can have an idea as to the finished product or is this your first mini for them?

This is the first one of the main army, most of the others are in various stages of Priming and basecoating. I've been kinda of affraid to paint again for some odd reason but the Dread has given me more courage to start up. ill have an Assault and Terminator squad soon so ill post them. But for now

Updated with New Progress, Ive added the Boltgun Metal to the Dread now i haven't weathered it yet I'm still deciding where i want to add more or if i want to. So here is the next 4 pics of the Aurora Dread.

So here it is for more C&C

Some spots of the main chassis look a bit textured. Was that on purpose or a primer oops?

Other than that, looks like good, solid, smooth basecoats, which is always good.
