I recently purchased cities of death and am moddeling an army that can fight in it appropriately. Im using gaurd and will probably use the combat engineers strategem. I was wondering if anyone could give me tips on how to makes minesweeper type models to be used as scanners.

Inside that little light in your refridgerator

I reckon these will be able to make, if you have plasticard.

Two diferent sized discs of plasticard, the slightly larger one on the bottom.
A little screen made from a rectangle of plasticard.
A pole/armature made from steel rod or a big paperclip.

Inboud...

I use the Auspex from the SM sprue. I trim it down slightly and either leave it hanging on belts, or have a squad member use it.

How about scratching a little ROV like the one they have on the Hurt Locker

There are plenty of models in the epic range that could be used as a base for ROVs or bomb disposal robots.

Very true, very true - that'd be a fun kitbash. Maybe techmarine servo arms on an epic land raider?

behind you

I made a simplified mine-sweeper using a kneeling guardsman, poking a stick(though a knife would be better) into the ground whilst calling out (i used the arm from the command sprue)

If you can, get the ROV from Space Hulk. That would be perfect.
