Hi all,

I need to apply a wash made from GW paints on my basecoat, but I don't know exactly what is the paint:water ratio...

I've found these :
-1:10 + glue
-1:6(water part made itself from a mix => 10partwater:1partliquitexflowaid)
-1:4-5 + dishwasher detergent

Which one would you use ? Or do you use another ratio ?
Thanks !

I use 1:5 with a drop of dish soap myself.

Though, Inks and citadel washes are vastly superior for washing.

Indeed, but I'm following a Masterclass tutorial from a WD.
And instead of using Badab Black, the painter used a Chaos Black wash...
Btw that's strange, GW washes were already available when this masterclass comes out.

I thought that Badab Black was the Chaos Black wash under a different name.

Badab black is a diluted black ink wash, Chaos black wash is just diluted Chaos black paint.

I was thinking the same, but the painter also used Baal Red, so it can't be a typing mistake.
I guess he did this on purpose, but why ?..

(Check WD181 Masterclass )

Some painters prefer to use chaos black as a wash as it provides a stronger contrast due to the paint drying as an opaque colour rather than a transparent colour.

To fill in gaps you will want real paint rather than washes, use chaos black paint
