Looks pretty good so far, though some of your pictures are a bit "under lit".
I would suggest baseing them, but as you stated your just starting on your army.
Nice work so far.

Lovely work, I particularly like the red war-paint on the nob

Ill try basing them a little later.. I never really got that down. Also I'm kind of at a loss of what color I want to base them. I have a desert terrain at home, but I when i go to my local store to play they don't have any desert terrain... So I'm gonna hold off on it for now.

thx for the replys though and the compliments

You've got the painting aspect down, that's for sure, but I'd like to see a bit more kustomization with your orkz.

I mean, if you are plenty happy with what the kits provide for the most part, more power to you, but just remember that you've got plenty of opportunity to personalize your boyz.

As far as customization goes, I'm not very good at it. here's a few minor conversions on my orks.

Mek boy with rocket launcher.. I used some extra bits to fit it on him.. and I put a goblin on his back... lol

battle wagons galore.. all i did is put some spear in the back to give a more menacing look. Only one of them is 90% done.. the other 2 are base coated.

Im mainly using AOBR models for my slugga boyz so there's not much room for custom models there.

Im pretty sure Ill make some conversions in the future.. like Dashofpepper's warbuggies. They look and function pretty well from what Ive seen.

Well thats all I got for now. Thx for the replys

Thx i didn't think the red face nob would get so noticed lol. All I did was painted blood red over the face in a line.. highlight with a mix of blood red and badmoon yellow. Then finish it off with a quick wash of badab black and some touch up highlighting... its pretty basic looking.

Also all the skin is rotting flesh. I like my pale ork skin

Goblin green is for goblins!

THX!

Thx.. the WAAAAGAH!!! banner was painted almost in the same fashion as the nob with the red war face. Except I used Red Foundation (forgot the name) then blood red... I like the way the red pops out on the banner. I didn't want to use the Waaagh banner from the ork metal boxed set (cost 45 bucks), so I purchased the banner from the black orks boxed set from fantasy warhammer. Got the bitz from ebay then shaved off the back of the banner to fit the animal skull on top with an extra set of horns... i liked the way it turned out.

I also had to weigh it down with a few coins cause it was a little off balance.

Edit: I haven't been painting that long.. I started back when second edition came out.

I bought a few chaos squads and berserkers. Then I stopped painting for like 5 years. Then I purchased the AOBR boxed set and set my sights on orks. I like to paint... I always found it soothing. Im no master painter or anything. I just paint my models how I see fit. My HQ's are gonna take the most of my time painting while my boys are gonna be a few minutes at best. Also I need to start learning how to base my models.

I'm still learning new ways to paint.. I got my painting procedure down to 4 stages.. Base coat, Highlights, Badab Black, MOAR HIGHLIGHTS.. thats it.

The backpack was a huge hassle. It was my first ever custom model and the goblin backpack I guess, was suppose to fit in the back of a warboss. so i drilled a huge hole in the back of my poor mek boy. I didn't have a dremil drill... so I took a phillips and just drilled it in there manually. It took a bit for it to stick, but i got it in there.
