Which list do you prefer?

I wonder why you'd take a captain instead of a librarian if all you're taking is a power sword and he has no combat oriented unit to attach to.

Do you play against people with no anti-tank, and no armor themselves?

I played 1k yesterday and had way more models than you, that did the same thing.

Predator with LC sponsons
and a Dreadnought in Drop Pod

Not to shoot you down or anything, congratulations on the wins, but you should fine-tune it a bit for the future.

I would offer this list:

Dreadnought w/ MM, Heavy Flamer 105

Tactical Squad (Flamer, MM) w/ Rhino 205
Sniper Scouts w/ Telion, Heavy Bolter, Camo Cloaks 163

Thx. Just 3 questions. How is it your list has WAY MORE models than mine? Also, how is it your list has superior anti tank/armour than mine? Why is it you think I ll have problem with armour?

I like your list. But I think with only 2 troops, I wouldnt risk taking the scouts, which in my opinion are vulnerable. Other than that, our list are pretty close, with the exception that your list don't have much C&C solution/capability. I love the Predator spam though.

Well, really it comes down to SM not really being able to compete properly at 1000 points.

I like the synergy between the MotF and Snipers (2+ cover saves?)

The question I would shoot back at you is this: Why do I need CC capability? Other armies do it better than three slow dreadnoughts.

All that being said, I like your list now that it is fixed, but Space Marines need at least 1500 points to play with.

I think your list looks really scarey. It's very hard for a lot of people to deal with Dreadnought spam if you haven't noticed. Which comes to say, maybe you should switch out the Captain with a lib (more useful) or a MoTF Just beacause you can field more dreads if you wanted.

I play CSM and it's sick how much better loyalist dreads are compared to ours. Even the new Blood Angels dreads are fricken amazing.

I personally like the squads in razorbacks a ton. I know a friend that just fields all of his troops in razorbacks, the extra heavy weaponry is just too useful, you can combat squad your tacticals from 10 people and still add them to razorbacks I think, except they'll have heavy weaponry on the marines as well. Just a thought?

Yeah, really the biggest improvement you can make is to get rid of the Captain and put in a librarian or MotF - the shooting they can do is awesome regardless, whereas I doubt the Captain gets pulled out most games.

my standard SM 1000 pt list is Libby, two tacticals with las and melta with razorbacks, two squadrons of two land speeders with mutli-melta and heavy flamers and two Dakka Preds. I think it would trash that list IMO

2 minimum raiders with DL
whatever HQ with wyches in raider

Added a 2nd list for comparison. Will be testing the libarian out. Thanks for the suggestions.

Really? Can we have a go at Vassal then? I don't see how your list could trash mine, but would be happy if you did so I can improve my list :-).

You have nothing that will scare people off once they reach you in assault. My dreadnaught 's role is not to reach assault fast but to provide assault support capability, so they are fine being slow.

I can't agree with you on this. I find that Marines can be rather point efficient at 1000 points. Predators for one, are pretty cheap.
