New wargamer here. Anyway, every group has rules of etiquette that outsiders often aren't privy to: usually, the first time you find out you screwed up is when someone gives you a dirty look and then someone else quietly whispers into your ear what you did wrong. Any things a totally new wargamer should keep in mind that would keep those embarassing moments to a minimum?

Thanks, all!

Many gaming stores have at least one 'smelly guy'.

Don't be THAT guy. That's pretty much all you need to worry about.

Oh, and welcome to Dakka! Swing by the Off-Topic Forum - while we still have one, that is.

I almost always agree with Albatross, I can't see why anyone wouldn't.

Okay, so the male version of "Cougar" is now officially "Albatross".

Welcome to Dakka!

The best wargaming etiquette tip I can offer is don't "rules lawyer" which means to subjectively interpret the rules to your own advantage.

Not for long. The polar bears are riding the melting glaciers south in search of penguin-steaks.

Welcome to dakka.

Just be socialble, best less you wind up like one of those robots that treat wargaming as a sport.

And have fun!

My 2 cents.
