Dakka, the home of YMDC-idiocy and buttards

The acts of faith:
The Passion (+2 Initiative)
Spirit of the Martyr (Invulnerable saves)
are both tested in the beginning of the appropriate phase, shooting or/and assault phase.

QUESTION:
In the enemy shooting/assault phase, is this declared BEFORE or AFTER his declaration of targets?

And a question about the "Light of the Emperor" AoF:
If successful, "...to becoming Fearless for the turn."
Let's assume that my opponent started the first turn, making me (obviously) second each turn. This AoF can only be tested in my movement phase.
In turn 1, I succesfully gain Fearless for the turn on my unit.
QUESTION: Does this remain "active" until my next turn, or is it until the enemy gets his next turn, starting game turn 2?

Anyone with some clarification about this?

Before - otherwise it is NOT the "beginning" of the phase.

It lasts one turn, one turn is always "one player turn" unless otherwise detailed, and therfore you are only fearless on your turn. Handy if you want to rally or are in adodgy combat.

Although if you are playing SoB and your squad isn't stubborn 9 or 10 you are doing it wrong.

The specific times to use it are...

Spirit of the Martyr (invulnerable) at the start of the enemy shooting phase or either assault phase BEFORE targets are declared.

Divine Guidance - Before rolling to hit

Light of the Emperor - It is in YOUR movement phase.

Hand of the Emperor - Before your troops attack

The Passion - As you specified in your post.

Like Nos said, it lasts a single player turn not game turn.

Divine Guidance specifically says you roll after rolling to hit, and before rolling to wound.

"You have to be realistic about these things." Logen Ninefingers.
