I really want to do a counts as CSM army, but Star wars Imperial themed. I have been looking around and I cannot find any models or miniatures on the right scale to be used in 40k.

I am not good enough to convert Catachans into storm troopers nor sculpt Darth Vader.

Do any of you happen to know if any models on a warhammer scale for Star wars stuff exists? I can convert the Vehicles no issue but the troopers are out side of my skill level.

1/10th scale are around 8" tall.
There have been some limited edition SW toys in 12", but most are for the 3 1/2-4" lines.

The SW minis were in 25mm (more proportional than GWs exaggerated "close enough" scale with its heads, hands and weapons being out of scale to the bodies). They are no longer in production, though as the licence is once again up for grabs*

*Hasbro still retain the biggest bid-share for it though - and can afford to outbid GW just to keep them from getting it.

Ok if they are no longer in production there is probably no effective way to get a hold of them is there?

Some games stores may still have stock of them.
They are randomly packed though, so there is no way to tell what you are getting in the boosters.

Aside from the description (x normal sized, y gargantuan, etc).

There are a whole host of stores selling singles, though.

You wouldn't happen to know any online retailers that do would you?

This is a good one, not only is it run by a dude that worked on the SWRPG, but he also offers non random encounter packs. So if you want a squad of stormtroopers or something this is one of the best places to go short of e-bay. Unfortunately he's not much in stock right now.

This place sells single minis. Stock varies by age, but they do sell used ones. Note though that the individual minis cost is by in-game value, so if you want Boba Fett, expect to drop some cash.

Count as CSM?
Wouldnt IG or WH be better?
Why, IG already has the Evil empire look, with the Commisars and all. And just imagine Imperial assasins made up to look like star wars bounty hunters. Sentinels as small AT-ST...

Great Idea anyway, hope it work out for you.

Stormtroopers are no way near Chaos Space Marines, they are slimmer than Cadians, esp. the Wizards miniatures. They could easily crawl through a Space Marines leg armour.
Better take IG (as they are not that elite, but a mass army) or Tau.
Better even take Droids as Necrons or Wookies as Kroot.
Even that is a bit streched.
And don't expect to be the first and only one who has a Star Wars themed army.

Kroothawk: I don't expect to be the first, in anyway shape or form.

I am massively underwhelmed with the Wizards miniatures, the sculpts are just horrible. So it looks like it's back to the drawing board for me.

Hey Zhetsuken, check out my tau blog, its done in a stormtrooper scheme but has no star wars conversions, with a bit of work and running them as guard (for at-ats and other imperial walkers and droids) you could have a really nice star wars imperial them going. Add an inquisitor with psyker powers for darth and your away!

And here is my fellow kiwi Siraths far better take on the same scheme.

good luck!

I would just paint IG stormtroopers white like SW stormtroopers. they are equipped similar and are just standard humans but badass. Plus the gaurd would have the FIREPOWWA of the empire, and are similar in looks and tech. ways. you would just have to field ALL stromtroopers. May I suggest 3 units of ST from IG codex(they have cool rules and hot shot) then take the rest of your troops as DH stormtroopers, possibly an Inq. lord as Vader, then TANKS! Like 60 white ST with Imperiul Support tanks all painted white would look pretty cool

On a side note my local store used to have a small force. they used space marines as ST because of the armor and painted DA red to be bodygaurd and a SM commander as vader

Some years ago I played a game and the person the next table over had a stormtrooper-themed marines list:

http://www.ailarian.com/dove/star-wars-40k.jpg

It seems that he took normal marines and put on stormtrooper heads like one of the links above, but I also recall him saying something about prefab minis proper (like the AT-AT in the picture).

I hope this helps. Otherwise the only other time I've seen star wars show up was when I once killed darth vader (a SO with a power weapon):

Actually, this guy used some sort of stormtrooper model for his imperial guardsmen that actually fit in rather well. I have no idea where there from, but if you follow this link to the report, perhaps you will be able to glean more from the pictures there.

I'm pretty positive those are all from the Wizards of the Coast Star Wars miniatures game. I saw a guy on Bolter and Chainsword back when I hung out there who had a Marine army that looked very similar. He said he ordered a bunch of the regular Stormtroopers as singles, then cut off their heads for his Marines. Worked pretty well, and looks alright.

EDIT: A quick search turned up this site, which has all manner of Star Wars singles. They've got Stormtroopers going for like 75 cents each here:

Regular stormtrooper heads are way too small for using on 40k mini as they are generally 25mm vs 32mm that 40k uses. The dark trooper heads however are quite large and fit better. The darth vader model is from star wars minis.

There's an awesome republic era clone army that was posted to la french wagh! it plays as an eldar army and has some incredible custom sculpts for the jedi, and the painting is top notch.
