2000 points

HQ:
Company Command Squad
Maste of Ordnance
4 Sniper Rifles

Company Command Squad
4 sniper rifles

Elites:
5x Ratlings
5x Ratlings

Troops:
1st platoon
Platoon Command Squad w/ Vox and 2 flamers

4x Infantry Squads w/ plasma and vox
2x Heavy Weapons Teams w/ 3 lascannons each

2nd platoon
Platoon Command Squad w/ Vox and 2 Flamers

2x Infantry Squads w/ Plasma Guns and vox
2x Infantry Squds w/ Grenade Launchers, Heavy bolters, and Vox
2x Heavy Weapons Teams w/ 3 lascannons each

3rd Platoon
Platoon Command Squad w/ Vox and 2x Flamers

4x infantry Squads w/ grenade launchers, heavy bolters, and vox
3x Heavy Weapons teams w/ 3 autocannons each
1x Heavy Weapons Squad with 3 missile launchers

Deployment:
Deploy Heavy Weapons in any available terrain to get elevation and clear lanes of fire, and put the company command squads near them
Try to get as many infantry as possible in terrain as you can, with the heavy bolter squads taking priority, and the plasma squads slightly closer to the front line
improv where you're going to put the platoon command squads
try to spread out any squads in the open to minimize casualties from ordnance
in killpoint games, combine to form 20 man squads of the same type (i.e. grenade launchers with grenade launchers, plasma with plasma)

I play all infantry guard, I'm pretty much hosed in kill point games anyway

Tactics:
Lay down as much fire as you can with the heavy weapons, the heavy bolters lay down fire, and the plasma gun squads move forward to threaten objectives and plasma the living hell out of MEQs. Snipers try to take down MC's and any targets of opprotunity/pin stuff
the plasma squads will almost assuredly die. This is part of the plan, they've been shooting at them instead of heavy weapons and heavy bolters. Once the table is more clear, run around claiming objectives with heavy bolter teams and any remaining command/plasma squads.

With this list I've kicked the living crap out of any marine army I've ever faced. Never lost to a Tau player, about 50/50 against daemons (Nurgle is mean!). Slaughtered a Nob Biker ork list, havn't played a horde one. I havn't really had an opprotunity to play any other armies yet. The one I'm most worried about is Tyranids, but I think everyone is.

Comments, questions, concerns? I'm totally open to advice. This list is for a tourney coming up in may. It's exactly 2000 points.

Edit: reorganized the list in a more logical manner. Dropped voxes in CCS to pick up extra sniper rifle. They give orders to the heavy weapons, and voxes are useles when doing that.

That's kind of a confusing format for a list, as far as what weapons each squad has.

I like your weapon loadout, your troop strength and your plan. Tell me - have the vox's been worth it?

Fun and Fluff for the Win!

I've been kinda debating that as of late, to be honest. When I actually do use it, it's awesome, but with Ld. 8 in my squads, I rarely fail a test for orders anyway. I guess it's up to personal preference, really.

I love the list. It provides too many bodies for anyone to deal with effectively. 200+ Guardsmen can put the hurt on pretty much anybody. My only concerns would be against a true Ork Horde army, or a full Mech Guard list. The Orks can just plow through your fire and multi-charge your units. A Mech list is not as scary, but a smart player will just target your lascannon squads first then run rampant through your gunline. You might do some damage with the plasma guns, but will have a hard time with av13-14. I think you should do well against most opponents though. Good luck!

No one kills more threads than me. Maybe I leave nothing else to say. Maybe my comments suck so hard people are left stunned. Who can say.

I would switch every HB to an AC - they're better, more flexible weapons.

I think you should condense the list (possibly by dropping the ML HWS) to put an AC in every plasma-toting infantry squad. There are plenty of opponents you'll want to stand still against and benefit from the extra S7 shots.

Both Excelent Points. I agree, a horde ork army could pose some problems. However, that is one of the reason I keep the ML hanging around, it can do a good job thining out a big squad of orks consistently for at least 2 turns. In my experience with it, I kill about 8-10 orks per turn of shooting with them. They are also in there to deal with any Tyranid threat.
I did have alot of trouble against a Mech Eldar list once. All the S6 shots wiped out my heavy weapons squads like crazy.
In response to the HB-AC comment, I may very well try that. I think I will leave them out of the plasma gun squads, though, as in most objective games, regardless of whether I want ot stand still or not, I need to be moving forward by at the latest turn 2 to guaruntee I'll reach the objectives in their deployment zone, as there is often difficult terrain in the way, and sometimes I need to forgo the run and instead shoot a little bit. I will definetly take it into consideration, though.
