The Blood Lance says nothing at all about denying invulnerable saves, or cover saves for that matter, so either would be available for use against the wound.

It depends on the wording - if it wounds that exact model, then you may not be able to use shield drones as that is another model making the save.

If it wounds like normal shooting, then you can allocate the wound onto a shield drone as normal.

Unlike JotWW, Blood Lance hits Units, not models. The Defending player allocates the wound wherever he wants.

Also, keep in mind the Blood Lance can only inflict a single wound per unit, it sounds like perhaps you had someone trying to claim it would wound each model under the line.
