Local store here sells this set for about $30, I was wondering if it'd be a good investment for my soon to be attempted Nurgle/Death Guard army. Also, any tips for decay and and rot would be much appreciated!

They look ok to me but you can only tell when you actually use them.
Even then it takes a bit of trial & error to make them work 100%.
