If Commander Dante has an Honor Guard, do you use his initiative or the honor guards. The rule says to use the "unit's" initiative. The unit is Dante he just has retinue, command squad, etc. However I know that most rules relegate to the majority of the models stats.
Dante has initiative six and would therefore only fail on a six.
The Honor Guard has initiative four and would only fail on a five or six.
Either way the odds favor success, I just wanted to be sure if it was 83 1/3% or 66 2/3%.

I believe it would be the majority, because if not how would Commander Dante get his retinue out? I believe as Dante has joined the retinue, he is not the unit, the unit is he and the retinue together.

i say use Dantes Int value as it is his special rule
most other test are performed against the highest in the unit and not the majority (ie.. ld test, sweeping advances) so i see no reason not to perform it on Dante's Int.

Most cases like this use majority rule. Probly a safe bet on it.

Game-wise, I would play it as majority.
Realistically, I would think its the slowest person, but I doubt that is in the rules.

For Dante to use his higher Initiave to zip out first, he'd have to abandon his retinue.

I would figure majority value, much like the Sweeping Advance rules, alternatively I could see it as the one Initiative test roll must be sufficient for all squad members to pass, in other words, lowest initiative.

Interceptor Drones can disembark at any point during the Sun Shark's move (even though models cannot normally disembark from Zooming Flyers).

I figure GW forgot different I values when they nicked this from the SoB. Seraphim and St.Celestine don't test, they just leave combat...
Yes, majority would seem fair.

Firstly: Honour Guard are not a Retinue. There are a grand total of ZERO retinues in the BA Codex.
Secondly: RaW Hit and Run doesn't actually work as there is no way for a "unit" to take an Initiative test, there are only rules for Models taking an Initiative test. However, a good compromise is to use the Majority Initiative the same way you do for a Sweeping Advance.

Lol, I can't wait to put that one out someday "Hit and Run doesn't work"...and try to keep a straight face on. Actually what am I saying..? I use somewhat of a Khan Death Star...BOOOOOOOO I vote for majority as well...it just makes 'sense' for those who like that line of thought.

This is a little story about four people named Everybody, Somebody, Anybody, and Nobody.
There was an important job to be done and Everybody was sure that Somebody would do it.
Anybody could have done it, but Nobody did it.
Somebody got angry about that because it was Everybody's job.
Everybody thought that Anybody could do it, but Nobody realized that Everybody wouldn't do it.
It ended up that Everybody blamed Somebody when Nobody did what Anybody could have done.
