A few quick questions here. I just want to make sure Im right on all accounts:

1) Does the -1 die to DT tests on enemy units work in the shooting and assault phases as well?

2) Can searchlights negate the Night Fighting rules when shooting at Deathleaper?

3) Because his rending for both shooting and close combat is for "To wound" rolls, I'm guessing they dont rend vehicles?

4) Is the -D3 ld to characters just on units with the IC rule? Meaning Mephiston/Daemon Princes are not included?

1) Yes.
2) Yes, since you follow the Night Fight rules.
3) No. He rends as normal vs vehicles in CC (i.e. on a 6), as he has Rending Claws, but his Flesh Hooks and CC attacks vs meaty objects rend on a 5 or 6 to wound instead of just a 6.
4) It applies to ICs or Upgrade Characters. So while Mephiston and a DP both cannot be affected, someone like Tellion or Lemartes could.

Alright, that's what I thought. I forgot about his rending claws though for CC, so good thinking.

Actually the night fight rules aren't completely followed. You determine the distance the same way as for night fighting then halve it.

I'm also gonna make a follow up question on for number 4. Would it affect stubborn characters?

Yes, as Stubborn only ignores negative penalties from close combat.
