The primes go in the HG units to soak up any fire that would cause them ID. The tyranofexes shoot vehicles while the hiveguard take out any infantry that get close. The genestealers may come in piece meal but with 5 broods I like my odds of getting at least 2 per turn. If the enemy gets close or has no vehicles the prime wards off CC from the HG units & the tyranofexes can hold their own being T6 w/ a 2+ save & their thorax swarm will help. What'cha think? (Point costs are aproximated as I dont have my codex on hand but it should come out around 2,000. If it's over I can cut some stealers)

Tyrranofex w/ regen and rupture cannon (i like the rumored name 'capsule cannon' better, haha.) costs 295, not 275. Regen only costs 10 points on the tyranid prime. 15 on the harpy, 25 on 'fexes and Hive tyrants, and 30 on all the 6-wound baddies. If it were 10 pts across the board i would take it on all my monstrous creatures, no questions asked. As is, i leave it off because typically if someone is focusing fire on a regenerating MC, they will spend the turn killing it completely instead of leaving it partially wounded to negate some of their high-s low-ap shots.

Been out of the game for awhile, trying to find time to get back into it.

Hey shas'o i'm new to the forums but not to the nids. was just wondering a couple things. the primes are with the hive guard for what reson? to stop instant death on a toughness 6 creature? i would suggest rethinking that. I like all the shooting but a few things about it. Drop the regen on everything. I have used this rule through 2 incarnations of it and its not great. first off your banking that your creatures are going to have a lot of wounds. Lets assume they don't . also its expensive, drop all that regen and you have another whole squad. all the outflanking might become a liability too. with that many troops and squads i would infiltrate all of them. then they have that many genestealers 18" away at least(if you didn't get first turn that is). Also as an experienced player i can say that a tervigon and a unit of termagants (to make the tervigon scoring) is an invaluable thing. feel no pain now rules the battlefield in this edition. I might drop one of the tyrannos for some zoans too. they are amazing tank poppers.

Yea forgot the HG are T6 but even then it provides some melee ability to the unit. As for outflanking, that is a must. Genestealers are pretty vulnerable to shooting and I don't want them dying en masse turn 1.
Also this list isn't a take & hold objective list it's meant to decimate your opponent. Most the good lists I see these days are mech. The tyranofexes break open the vehicles & the HG either break light vehicles or begin thinning enemy troops. The genestealers show up to mop up the infantry.
Pending play testing I'll probably drop regen for more stealers but with this list I don't want any static shooting beside the tyranofexes (HG move around and shoot albeit slowly) Personally I don't like zoanthropes. I find HG are just better.
